Avoid A77 towards kilmarnock /ayr. Completely flooded!

Three major Scottish roads – M74, A82 and A77 – all locked down as motorists face travel chaos

Cops have locked down a busy stretch of the road near to Uddington at Junction 11.

And another smash has taken place just down the road near Abbington.

The Scottish Ambulance Service are in attendance and police are urging commuters to “drive safe," avoiding the affected route where possible.

And now, Traffic Scotland have confirmed the A77 in Ayrshire is closed due to severe flooding.

Traffic is at a standstill between Kilmarnock and Monkton, with reports of drivers having to park up at the side of the road.

Diversions are in place via Kilmarnock Town, the A78 via Irvine and Monkton.
