Teaching content creators how to navigate the seas of content! Back in 2018, I was a FLOUNDERING content director. And at first, I was terrible at it.

I was cobbling together social media posts for College Esports teams, without any real prior knowledge of the industry. So I decided to learn more about growing on social media, with a particular interest in YouTube. Most people would have thought that I had got lucky, and that I didn’t earn the positions I was in. Not only that, but people in my position would feel lost and not know where to go f

or help or advice. The “gurus” always talked about success, but never provided any grounded insights. I was working in these jobs, and I realized quickly that nobody really knew what they were doing. They were all floundering like I was. Some of us were just getting luckier than the others. And others seemed to have figured it out, they found the one source of truth out of the slew of “how to guides” that existed. I was having moderate success growing brands to the sizes that the clients wanted. Even though I succeeded, and produced the numbers that some upper entity wanted, I felt as though I had stumbled my way through it. Information was all over, but most of it was just white noise. I couldn’t find a reliable source to learn about being successful as a content creator. I spent a lot of time hunting for answers. My plan is to take my hunt for the truth public. I want to share the information that I find helpful with anyone looking to build in the creator economy. By sharing my specific insights, my own content journey, I can hopefully communicate learnings along the way that may be the “light bulb” moment for another creator. After changing my mindset around having a “growth” mentality, I have found success in growing on social media, particularly YouTube for my current job. I don’t believe that I know all of the answers. But I do believe that I will research my brains out to find them, and I’m will to test any thesis that comes my way. In the search, for consistency. So far I have:
-Built several brands to 6 figure viewership
-Generated millions of free impressions for creators and brands

My "Apple" garage moment 28 years later.

I created Odd Man Out Studios while working in collegiate esports.

It started as a gaming organization.

Then it got shelved while I worked for the professional gaming scene

Then I forgot about it while I worked in a tech start up.

Then I got laid off.

Then it became a podcast.

Then I got another job.

Then it got shelved.

Then I got fired...again.

Yesterday I ran out of hard drive space and it led me down the rabbit hole of finally cleaning out my garage to rent it out as a filming space.

If the series of events had never happened, then I never would have had my "Apple" garage moment, but this time with chicken nuggets.

I'm proud today to be FINALLY giving myself the time, investment, and focus that I deserve as a content creator trying to change the industry for the next generation of content creators.

So, here's to sailing the high seas of the startup world!

I'm happy to say Odd Man Out Studios is 100% creator owned, has no VC/angel backing, and plans to build a first of it's kind creator focused studio for the future.

Now, let's get back to making sure our ship has no holes in it (gotta get my tax paperwork done 😂)

As times get harder, I get harder on myself.

These past few months have been a struggle.

A struggle professionally
A struggle financially
A struggle emotionally
A struggle spiritually

I've been struggling for a long time now and it's time to make a change.

So I'll be focusing on my mental health, my relationships, and my passions.

Being embedded in social media for so long I've lost sight of my own identity.

I've spent the past 5 years building others' dreams, and I cheated myself of doing any form of deep dive into what Danny wants.

So I'll be offline on my personal social media for the foreseeable future.

If you're struggling, please know you're not alone.

Find yourself in the chaos, it'll be the best investment you can make in yourself.
