PS5 Pre-order at Gamewerks

There is a worldwide shortage of PS5 and the situation is not improving.

[Situation in 2020]
After the PS5 release on 13th November 2020, a lot of regulars and customers wanted the PS5 console and asked if we could reopen preorder, as they were unable to constantly follow our announcements online.
We assessed the situation and believed supply will be stable after Christmas 2020, so we reopened preorder for PS5, with an expected delivery date in 2021. However, it was a mistake.

[Preorder 2020]
1. As soon as we reopened preorders officially, we were overwhelmed by the number of orders
2. We gave each customer an estimated collection date based on our estimated monthly allocation from Sony.
3. We also collected a $100 deposit with each preorder, with a promise for full refund if we are unable to deliver the console by the expected date.

[Situation now]
Sadly, since Jan 2021, our PS5 allocation has not been consistent.

[What we’ve done]
We continue to provide periodic updates to customers through phone calls. It’s tedious but we know it’s also our responsibility

[Mistakes we’ve made]
1. We were careful with our monthly preorder acceptance. However, when we first started to miss delivery deadlines, our preorder customers didn’t cancel their preorder, instead they chose to continue to wait. This created a snowball effect and increased our backlog of owed orders
2. We should have made the risks of preorder clearer to customers, that we are unable to guarantee the delivery date for the PS5.

We are sorry.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.

[ What to do if you’ve pre-ordered ]
1. If you have preordered from us and want a refund, please DM your invoice number and bank / Paynow information. We will return your deposit ASAP.
2. If not, at this point, we are no longer offering an ETA and will update you once stocks are in.

Lastly, we understand this news will upset some of you and agree you have the right to be angry, but please do not take it out the retail assistants.(Yes we do get a few nasty comments during our phone calls & inbox).
We’re definitely trying our best right now.
