Fall time is here in Northern Minnesota and we have been blessed with an unusually warm season in 2023. A few extra weeks without snow is something not to complain about, especially when Fall is my favorite season! Today we got to visit beach after having 5 inches of rainfall that has been mostly untouched after clay cliffs have littered the beach with new rocks that haven't been seen for hundreds of years!

Today, we have FINALLY reached the end results of our rock tumbling after almost 2 months of tumbling. We have been tumbling Lake Superior Agates in one barrel and Michigan stones from Rob and Maple, including Agates, Puddingstones, Petoskey Stones, and a few other varieties!

left me some beautiful stones after our adventure together in May of this year that I am very excited to put a polish on. A fun background is that I watched Rob's tumbling for beginner's video to start my hobby as a tumbler, so I owe it to him for my tricks I utilize! I also received some rocks from Maple who is a community member on the Rodenberg Rocks page! She made a journey from Michigan to do some agate hunting and I was unfortunately in Florida at the time, but she put the rocks in a secret place for me to find once I returned.

I am excited to share with you all each stage of the tumbling process of their rocks they gave me, as well as all of the agates I am tumbling in my secondary barrel.

A cool summer day on the shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota. Today we got to visit a beach that has been mostly untouched after some rainfall and stormy weather. Being that Lake Superior is very high this year, these wavy days make a much larger impact on the erosion of clay cliffs, as well as pushing new rocks up from the bottom!

Today, we take a peak at some rocks that are freshly completing their second stage of rock tumbling. We are tumbling Lake Superior Agates in one barrel and Michigan stones from Rob and Maple, including Agates, Puddingstones, Petoskey Stones, and a few other varieties! Turns out timing matters for different stones with different hardness... DUH!

Today I ventured SOUTH instead of my typical NORTH to a more remote river that does not look to be explored often to see if I could make some new discoveries and boy was a tried and tested! Lots of rocks and finds that were new to my knowledge and tested my abilities as a rockhound.

In today’s outdoor journey, we head the opposite direction of the North Shore to a beautiful NEW gravel pit to see if I can make some actual amazing finds like the lore of stories I have heard from other rockhounds. On today's rock hunting adventure, we revisited a river that AgateDad and myself explored a few weeks back and got SKUNKED! I decided to take another try at this river when the water levels were a little bit lower and found some success! We shall conquer this river again at some point in the future, but for now, I am satisfied!

A beautiful summer day on the shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota. Today we got to bring out a new rockhound to the shores to look for some rocks with me! This new rockhound is my fiancé Kayla, and we were able to spend a short time by the Lake today, but chalked up a few good finds along with some laughs!

Welcome to the Rodenberg Rocks Page!

My name is Brett and I am an avid rockhound who wants to bring my finds and adventures to a community who has a similar obsession with stones as much as I do. I currently film content of my rock hunting adventures and polishing, with a plan to create another emphasis in lapidary, cutting, and utilizing my finds for crafts.

If you enjoy the content, please feel free to follow along with my journey in the beautiful unknown of the days in a life of a rockhound! 🤘🪨
