Really nice thinking about hosting a live discussion on Friday to talk about the election results after folks had time to process it. There are some things that need to be said and discussed.

Election Day is finally here, but truth be told… this nation’s underlying issues will still remain.

I truly believe that most of us have no malicious intent as we voice and express what we think is best for the country and for one another. True, some of the opinions and positions we hold are often either poorly defended, wrapped in emotion, tainted with a bit of misinformation, but overall rooted in good intentions.

We’ve lost the ability to have a dialogue with one another, and to be okay with having differences of opinion without descending into character assassination. We listen with the intent to argue instead of listening to understand. Sadly, we’ve fallen into an us vs them mentality and that’s what weakens us as a country.

The moment we stop looking at each other as enemies, and decide to work together to improve our country despite our differences is when we will truly begin to live up to our potential.

Until then, the divide will only widen as we buy into the division being sown between us. And who knows maybe we can’t cease having to pick between the lesser of two evils every election?

In the midst of chaos and despair, God is still God. He does not change just because situations and circumstances do. We must stay connected to the source in hard times because the source will bring with it things needed for us to remain sustained. Don't give up on God because He hasn't given up on you.
Stay Blessed and Enjoy the rest of your week.

“The Law of Diminishing Intent says, “The longer you wait to do something you should do now, the greater the odds that you will never actually do it.”

Fun Fact Friday: I was telling my husband the story of how I had an associate who seeks me out just to complain to me about different situations and once i fix said situations, that person makes a stink about it. I'm all about listening to a person vent once, maybe even twice but after that I will fix the problem for you if I have it in my power to do so. In these cases, I def had the power to do so. So I went to the people I knew could help the situation and explained why this was beneficial to all parties involved, including myself without saying anything about the complaints. Did I mention it was BENEFICIAL to all parties involved. And this person then complained that they didn't want it fixed and that they didn't want my help. I responded with "Oh no, you wanted it fixed because you kept coming to me about it knowing my track record. you know from previous experience that complaining to me multiple times about the same issue is a no-no, but you keep coming back doing the same thing but expecting me to do something different like keep listening. " By this time my husband is cracking up and I'm looking at him like shaq is in the photo. I ask him "why are you laughing???

Moral of the post: Kofi said ya'll should just keep all ya'll stuff to ya'll self if ya'll don't want the situaiton to be taken care of. Now I'm sitting here laughing while feeling some type of way because he's right. I don't like bullies and I don't like people being mistreated and in this situation, it was a little of both. It will get handled

Fun Fact Friday: Reading is so good for the soul. There's nothing like engrossing yourself in an amazing story and feeling like you're apart of the plot. It's like you are one with the characters : a distant relative, a cousin, a sister or auntie lol
Even while reading the Bible, I feel like I was there being stupid just like Israel and Judah. Be blessed and have an amazing weekend!

Heart Chronicles: When you are in tune with God, you will know what displeases Him without Him having to say a word. The conviction will be real. He can, has, and will use other people to make sure you are aware that He knows but the Spirit within you feels a conviction when you're being disobedient to the Creator. Romans 8:1 tells us that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. The chapter continues on to address flesh vs spirit and that when you are in your flesh, you cannot please God. Sometimes, you just have to listen, repent and turn away from such acts. You are also free to choose to continue down that road AND do nothing. HOWEVER, if the situation is not handled according to how He wants it, those consequences are YOURS to bear. Let's stop blaming others for our disobedience and idolatry worship and return our hearts back to the father before it's too late. Be blessed

Heart Chronicles: Love will tear down walls that sin built up. Love doesn't accept sin, it exposes it so that it creates a change of heart of the one committing the sin. Somehow we have softened God's disapproval of sin by telling people all about His love. His love for us is the reason why we turn from our sinful nature and submit to Him. 1 Peter 4:8 tells us that love covers a multitude of sins. This means that by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ from the Father, He has chosen to overlook our faults and forgive us. Even though His death and resurrection covered our sin, does not mean that He accepts it or that we should keep crucifying Him by continuing it. Romans 6:1-2 Shall we continue in sin and practice sin as a habit so that grace may abound ? God forbid. How can we (the very ones) who died to sin continue to live in it any longer? May 2024 align who we are in secret with who we are in public and may if glorify the Father. Be blessed

Heart Chronicles: One of the things we do best is try to fake it til we make it. We put on an awesome outward appearance while secretly dying inside, not realizing that if anyone talked to us, what's in our heart spills out of our mouths. We've learned to hide things well: our failures, anger towards others, discontentment with life, physical and emotional abuse, suicidal thoughts, lies about ourselves and others, sicknesses and diseases, tormented and dark thoughts, impulsive behaviors, past trauma and a myriad of other things. We pretend that everything is ok because if we can just try to keep a tight lid on it and no one knows, then we don't have anything to worry about. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to Guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from it. Another verse tells us As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he Proverbs 23:7 We become what we think about. Matthew 15:18-19 says that but the things that comes out of a persons mouth are from the heart and these defile him. for out of the heart comes evil thoughts- murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. I could go on and on about the scriptures that talk about the heart but just know that if you are contaminated internally, it will cause ruin externally if left unchecked. Be careful what you nurture and coddle during your down time. Idle hands is the devils workshop: idle lips are his mouthpiece. Proverbs 16:27. So how do we protect ourselves? By keeping our guard up through submitting to God, resisting the devil and he will flee. James 4:7, by being content with what we have- not that I speak in regard to need , for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content Philippians 4:7, by putting on the armor of God so that we will be able to stand against the tactics of the devil Ephesians 6:11 and by believing that you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you Philippians 4:13. These are the matters of the heart. Be blessed

27/12/2023

Heart Chronicles: when one goes grocery shopping for fruit, what are some of the things that are checked before buying? Color, smell, any mold or off putting physical features that renders the fruit blemished- right and the quality of the containment that houses the fruit. If this is the case, why do we spend so much time looking for the best fruit in the store but not in the quality of people that we interact with or call family/friends? If we know the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control Galatians 5:22-23 and there are people that clearly display other things contrary to this, how then do we make excuses to keep them in our lives and digest their fruit? Are we more concerned with what we eat but not in the company that we keep? There are multiple scriptures that warns us of character behavior. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived, bad character ruins good morals or how about Proverbs 13:20 whoever walks with the wise become wise but a companion of fools will suffer harm or As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another Proverbs 27:17 ? Everything from what we eat, see, and listen to- to the company we keep is important in living and maintaining a healthy and loving lifestyle. I'm not telling you to live in isolation but I am challenging you to be a good steward of what God has given you. Common sense, discernment, and a good sense of judgment are but a few of the things He's equipped us with. Use it and use it well. Be blessed!

Fun Fact Friday: There is no better feeling than being off with the one/ones you love and enjoying their company. Laughter is good for the soul. Enjoy your weekend and be blessed!

21/12/2023

Heart Chronicles: Pain and suffering are apart of life but so is happiness and joy. Sometimes when we go through dark times, it seems as if there's no way out but rest assured weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning Psalms 30:5. As we navigate thru life, challenges will come. We will lose people in death, we will hurt people through misunderstandings and our inability to handle conflict effectively, we will learn to become our authentic selves and separate from people, places and things, even God. We will also experience getting married and having children, the joy of community and friends, the peace of communing with the Father and enjoying everything this world has to offer ; vacations, cultures, food, music, art and entertainment, but this is all apart of life and it's seasons. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Hang on in tough times and even in better times. These things will pass. Be blessed!

20/12/2023

Heart Chronicles: Life can get so complicated sometimes. It's easy to feel despair and disappointed when life doesn't go the way we planned. Some wanted to be married by a certain age, some wanted desperately to have a child to no avail, some wanted to work in a certain industry but couldn't secure the job, some wanted to be famous and instead they are homeless, some ended up going to jail whether because of their choices or the choices of someone else, for some - life was so hard that they turned to su***de and sadly some were taken way too soon. There is a myriad of reasons why our lives don't go as planned. Truth is- our time here on earth is short. Whether you believe in God or not, 80-100yrs is short and we all will eventually die. So what are we doing with our lives with this time? How can we make an impact on the world while we are here? If the Lord gives both life and death 1 Samuel 2:6, and it is His Spirit moving through us Job 33:4, then why do we have a hard time asking Him what His will is for our lives? We look to books, self-proclaimed teachers and healers, zodiac signs, tarot cards, and wonder why life continues to pass us by which can lead to depression, sadness, loneliness and isolation. I challenge you to spend some time alone with the Creator, not asking for anything but just being in His presence. See what He has to say about you. Who better knows us that the Creator Himself? Be blessed!

18/12/2023

Heart Chronicles: Why is it that some of us are so mean and nasty to those we interact with? For some it may be the waiter who messes up our order, or the customer service rep while we're out shopping, or our kid's teacher if they are having issues with our children. For others, it may be the cop who pulled us over, our spouses and family, even coworkers and associates or sometimes even God himself. We hurl insults and attitude laced with venom and pain hoping that we get a reaction so we can keep going. All this we because of unchecked emotions. Our feelings and emotions are so fickle and often times can destroy any type of relationship we have with others if we cannot or refuse to be grounded in wisdom and love. Matthew 12:34, Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. When we let these feelings and emotions simmer, often focusing on the negative ones more than the positive, the result is catastrophic. This can cause us to have to go apologize to the one whom we hurt and reconciliation is never guaranteed. On the flip side, when we focus on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely and admirable, then we can see the good in others despite whatever flaws any of us have. Philippians 4:8. Hey, I'm not saying that some people don't deserve a dose of their own medicine, I'm saying it affects them more when you don't give them the reaction they are looking/expecting from you. We have to learn to be kind to one another and choose our battles wisely. Even Jesus didn't address everything that people said about Him. I challenge you to think about your response before just blurting out one and see how it affects the very nature of your conversations. Be blessed.

Fun Fact Friday: I played chess in high school and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't consider myself a grandmaster but you won't beat me easily either.
