Oh boy, this post has been a long time coming!⁠

🍑QOTD: Do you chat in a person's stream after you raid them?⁠
⁠
🍑AOTD: It depends! Sometimes, I set aside time after stream to talk, and then others, I just don't have the mental capacity to say anything. Streaming can be very draining for me when it comes to my social battery, and sometimes, I just need to take care of myself.⁠
⁠
🍑There was a tweet that inspired this post. It said "When you raid someone, isn't it rude to leave without saying hello?" The tweet went on to talk about how they always set aside time to chat in another person's stream. There were a lot of comments on this tweet agreeing with the original poster, and I want to shut down this way of thinking.⁠

🍑First things first, no one owes you anything on Twitch. Just because they raid you does not mean that they are required to chat. Like I mentioned in the post, some people just don't have the ability to talk when they raid, for whatever reason. And you shouldn't shame someone just because YOU'RE able chat after every stream. ⁠
⁠
🍑Remember that raids are something you should be grateful for, regardless of if the streamer addresses you. The streamer chose you and trusts you to share their community with you. Making them feel bad for not chatting after a raid is a great way to ensure that when they are able to chat that they will not be raiding you.⁠

🍑AOTD: Stray is going to be my game on Wednesday/maybe Thursday! I'm really excited to play through it, because I've heard nothing but good reviews for it. In fact, the only negative I've seen for the game so far is that it's not long enough!⁠

🍑AOTD: I have typically not been very confident in myself due to some bullying I experienced when I was younger as well as lack of inner self worth. What could I be confident in? Growing up, one thing I was always confident in was my intelligence and how when I was committed to something, I would achieve it, no matter what!⁠

🍑At Burger King the other day, I was waiting for my food when the person who handed me my food said, "Ma'am, I don't mean to bother you, but you are beautiful. Your boyfriend must be lucky as hell." And these words stuck with me, mainly because I was kinda sad that day. After hearing that, I sat up a little straighter, smiled a little wider, and messaged my boyfriend to tell him that I love him. ⁠

🍑QOTD: How often do you network with other streamers, and what is your definition of networking?⁠

🍑AOTD: I try to network at least once a day with a few streamers. For me, networking is meeting new streamers, chatting in their streams, and getting to know them better!⁠

🍑If you don't read any of these tips but this one, please pay attention to number 4! One of the most common things I'll see not just in my stream, but other people's as well is the same conversation every time the person joins: "Hey. How are you doing? How are the games going? Lurk"⁠

🍑I do want to say that I don't think there is anything wrong with lurking, but the point of networking is to get to know people better! If you had the same conversation with your friends every time you saw them, would you be friends with them? Likely no! It's the same thing with networking.⁠
⁠
🍑I promise you it's better to hang out in one streamer's chat, get to know them and their community, clip stuff, have fun, etc. than to lurk in 10 people's chats. You'll develop much better friendships with the people you get to know vs the surface level friendships you'll make by lurking.⁠

🍑AOTD: I guess, technically (?) It was more of my parents that adopted. We had a neighborhood stray dog that got pregnant and had a litter of 6-7 puppies. My parents let me choose one to keep, and that was honestly the most loyal dog that we ever had (We Love You Fudge). ⁠

🍑What Comes After (trigger warning needed for this game) is a text based game where you character accidentally ends up on a train to the after life (who knew subway trains could also be used to transport souls headed to the afterlife?). You play as Vivi and get to learn about the lives of those who have passed away.⁠

🍑I don't really like text based games all that much, and that's really all you do in this game is read conversations. There are some emotional moments *one emotional moment* throughout the game. But what I like most about this game is that it reminds you to live your life to the fullest. And it speaks to people who might feel like a burden or that they don't have a purpose in life. ⁠

🍑AOTD: I have a few ways. First, I have a Discord bot that automatically sends out when I'm live to everyone. Second, I post a streaming/gaming related discussion in a few Facebook groups I'm in. Third, I try to remember to post a Go Live post on Twitter and on my Instagram stories!⁠

🍑I decided to make this post because of a message I saw recently in a Facebook group that said "Whenever I am going to stream and have been chatting in someone else's stream, I'm going to tell them why." While this is generally frowned upon by the Twitch community, it got me thinking about other self promotion mistakes I've seen streamers make. ⁠
⁠
🍑The biggest one I've noticed on this list other than blatant self promo in another streamer's stream is only posting Go Live links on social media. Think about it from a viewer perspective or even from your own perspective - would you follow an account that mainly posts when they're going live on Twitch? Probably not. Because that's not interesting. That tells me nothing about who you are as a person.⁠

🍑AOTD: Over time, I've had a bad habit of not showing up mentally for my streams. I've pushed through even if I've been in a bad mood or if I've had other stuff going on. This has clearly affected the quality of those streams, and I think I'm just going to cancel streams on those days!⁠

🍑I think there are always things that streamers can improve on, so I've written down some habits that I think could be good to develop for streamers! ⁠

🍑One habit that has really helped me is set aside time to be productive at least one day a week. If you don't know, I batch create content each week for the following week (or even for the whole month!) Creating Instagram posts for the week all at once gives me more time to engage on social media, network, and improve my own streams!⁠

🍊G-Fuel has fired 7 staff members who were told it was due to a restructuring of the company. This decision was made less than 24 hours after a person of authority was caught using defamatory language and hateful slurs.

🍊While the staff members who were fired want to avoid sharing negative experiences in hopes to avoid shattering future opportunities, it is reported that management has treated staff poorly and terminated contracts with partners that "weren't making enough money."

🍊I've decided to take on YouTube! This means learning how to plan, film, and edit videos, as well as learning how the YouTube algorithm works and how to optimize my videos! It's definitely been a lot of information to learn, but I feel that utilizing a platform like YouTube will help me see results long term.

🍊If you don't know me, I'm ApricotSnaps, and I stream Thursdays to Sundays on Twitch starting at 2 PM CST! Dead by Daylight is my main game, but I try to reserve half of Friday and Saturday streams to playing other games.
