Guild Recruitment for Star Wars: the Old Republic
Hello There!
Star Wars: the Old Republic (SWTOR) is free-to-play, and is available on both PC as a free download (SWTOR.com) or via Steam. Multiple players in this group will be playing and streaming it as we progress, and we wanted to invite you to join our ranks!
Here is a quick primer on playing the game:
1) As noted, it is Free-to-Play. There is a subscription model that helps with higher end stuff (and it makes the game easier in a lot of ways), but you can easily spend 200 hours in the gameplay without ever having to pay a penny.
2) If you decide to subscribe, even for one month, you gain a set of bonuses (called "Preferred Status") that don't disappear, even if you unsub on the second month.
3) We are playing on the Starforge Server. We have a more developed Republic side, but we also have characters in our Empire side guild- you are welcome to join us on either (or both!) Choose any race and class, all are welcome, and honestly you can respec your character later in the game.
4) Once you have created a character, send one of us a message (see guilds below). There are a lot of perks to playing in the same guild, and its free!
So, once you have decided to play, here's what you need to do. Type "/cjoin Chaosseeds" in your chat bar. This is the mutual channel shared by all guilds, so someone can always see you and respond to your questions. All of us will be happy to help out a fellow fan in a game we love.
When it comes to guild selection, we have some different options. You can have characters in multiple guilds, so you don't have to choose one and only one. Here is the breakdown:
Imperial Side:
-Mist Village Miscreants: The only Imperial side guild for the Mist Village. If you are playing a Sith, this should be your new home. Contact Shannon Frost or Scott Helms for an introduction or more information.
-Chaos Seeds: A very dark side focused guild with The Land fans. It's a bit higher level than the other Imperial guild, and is full of... well Republic hating Imperials. Great for PvP. Contact Corey Forsberg for an invite
Republic Side:
-Mist Village Mafia: The heart and soul of the Mist Village in the Old Republic. Pros: It was created for the Mist Villagers. It has an amazing Alderaan Stronghold, and everyone in it is a guaranteed fan of Aleron Kong. Cons: It's a new guild. There are few people on and minimal group bonuses- but that can only be fixed with people joining it. Contact Shannon Frost or Scott Carter for an invite.
-Severance: This is a mid level guild that is not based on the Mist Village, but is lead by fans of the Aleron Kong. Pros: It has more active players than the other Republic guilds, and you are more likely to find a group to help level there. It also has a partially unlocked guild ship that gives bonuses. Cons: When you say "Chapter 37", few will understand you. Contact king for an invite.
-The Hamburger Train: A group of raiders that also happen to be the people behind The Land: Roleplaying System. Pros: All of its current members are auditors in The Land RPG, so we also get it. We have a fully unlocked guild ship and some heavy benefits for our members. Its the only guild of the three that regularly schedules end game content (raids, flashpoint, operations, etc). Cons: Should be at least lvl 60 to join; preferably a subscriber as lots of stuff done is sub only; preferably with a microphone/speaker as we chat on Discord. Also they are only online during raid nights, so most of the time its an empty guild. Contact Jeremy Jordan or Jay Beraz for an invite.
We hope that's enough information to get started - we hope to see you in the game. Watch out for streaming, as we will be running regular missions and stories through this group so you can see the game in action.
May the Force be With You!!!!
