Late to the party, I know. But better late than never!
Opening 60 packs of Heritage so you don’t have to. This year Topps is throwing it back to 1975 set and I do have a soft spot for them. The base set is a whopping 117 cards. So you will need to spend 180,000 coins minimum.
Odds are as follows:
Uncommon 2 per pack
Rare 1:3
Super rare black and white 1:10
Super rare Chrome base or Gold Clubhouse Collection relic card 1:50
Iconic 1:500
And here are my results:

I was able to get 5 more rare cards than expected and an additional super rare black and white. Completing 63% of the base set seems to be about right when opening the packs. Overall a fun rip and great cards for the collection.

Overall I did pretty much what was expected with the odds. Feel slightly cheated I only hit 3 rare cards instead of the expected 5. What I did find interesting is that you can hit both the super rare variants in the same pack (see the last photo).
A few days behind, but in case you haven’t noticed, the Top 100 event is finally out!
It’s slightly different than in previous years, with the event now 10 tiers long. But it’s worth it. Done correctly you net 12,000 coins each time through.
Here are the steps:
Tier 1 - open 1 Top 100 pack and get 3,000 coins
Tier 2 - collect 10 cards and get a pack of Bowman
Tier 3 - open mystery box and get 1,000 coins
Tier 4 - craft 10 cards and get a pack of Series One
Tier 5 - spin the arcade wheel and get 1,000 coins
Tier 6 - open mystery box and get 1,000 coins
Tier 7 - craft 20 cards and get a Top 100 pack
Tier 8 - spin the arcade wheel and get 1,000 coins
Tier 9 - open 2 mystery boxes and get 3,000 coins
Tier 10 - open 5 packs of Top 100 and get 20,000 coins
Once again you can craft 10 uncommon Top 100 cards for a Top 100 rare. And then 3 Top 100 rare for a Top 100 super rare rain. You have 58 days to complete the super rare rain to receive the Corey Seager award card.
It’s great that we actually make a little bit of coins with the event, but the opening of 4 mystery boxes makes it a tedious slog.

65% of the uncommon set completed, which is about right. Slightly under the expected for the rare cards, but beats the odds and hit 2 super rare.
Overall this is simple set with only a total of 180 cards, with 20 of this being legendary from the super pack exclusives.
Looks like we are getting Mystic for tomorrow release. Still no signs of an event.

After Jason’s grumpy effort earlier, it was my turn to torch 300k coins and see what the digital gods bestowed upon me.

Covered off 68/100 uncommon base which I don’t think is too bad a dupe rate. Hit 37 total uncommon (33 unique) to come out ahead of the odds quite nicely but that luck dried up for the rares as I only hit 8 total (no dupes) where the odds should deliver 10.
Super Rare came in on odds with 1 making its way into my collection and I hit nothing higher.
I don’t mind the look of the set and it’s also nice to see that top level packs aren’t just limited to diamonds with the Standard Challenge Packs still getting you potentially into the draw for a physical hobby box for a lofty 250k coins. A total set of 4517 cards is absolutely mental. I completed 2.5% of that in 100 packs. Fair enough it runs all year and we’ll probably get crafting/hoarding events through the year, but geez that’s a grind.

Overall I did what was expected. The usual amount of completed percentage for the commons, slightly below expected on uncommons, above expected for rare and completely whiffed on hitting any super rares.
Review of Bowman 24
I do not like Bowman, it does nothing for me. Last year’s year long cool event reinforced how much I don’t like it. The cards held little value and caused chaos in the trade feed as new players thought their N/A iconics and super rares had value and would make dumb offers. So I reluctantly open my open packs not expecting much and wanting to get it over as quickly as possible. The base and uncommon set is still meh. But I did enjoy that the set leaned into motion cards in the rare sets. Overall I like this set more than last year, but that’s not saying much.
With Bowman coming out later today, do you think these redemption tickets will be in the coin packs or the diamond packs?

Overall I was slightly above expected with the rare hits, while Graeme was below all expected on his. Say that, Graeme did above average on super rare pulls while I hit what was expected.

Was having a look at the Topps Bunt May VIP awards cards and 10 of you spent at least $1,500 on Bunt last month. I know there are a few whales out there, but damn that’s a lot of disposable income to be spending. You must have one hell of a collection.

I did pretty good with opening my 50 packs. Completed 74% of the base set and beat the odds to get an extra rare and super rare card.
