THE GOD PARTICLES
Their idealism contrasts with the opacity of US politicians who vetoed building a larger version of the collider in this country. A news clip of a congressman declaring that discovering the secret of the universe is a very low priority makes a sad commentary on the narrow-mindedness of some of our elected officials. But the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) took up the slack, and over a period of 10 years built outside Geneva “the largest machine made by man,” as a theoretical physicist (and the film’s producer) David Kaplan describes it. Kaplan is a model of everyone’s favorite professor, explaining with clarity some of the abstruse concepts.
That’s about as far as I can follow it. A key point, though, is that all the scientists profiled have staked their careers on this one discovery. For some, like Stanford physicist Savas Dimopoulos, it’s been as long as three decades. If the Higgs turns out to have a weight above a certain number, then the multi-universe theory (which sounds kind of fun to me) prevails and all their work is for naught. If it is a lower number, then supersymmetry prevails and they’ve been on the right track. So excitement builds as the collider is first tested, and the spot of light and ping indicating success are greeted with cheers. Setbacks, the results prove — inconclusive.

An Old Man Story
An old man lived in the village. He was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood.The longer he lived, the more bile he was becoming, and the more poisonous were his words. People avoided him because his misfortune became contagious. It was even unnatural and insulting to be happy next to him.
He created the feeling of unhappiness in others.
But one day, when he turned eighty years old, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumor:
The whole village gathered together. The old man was asked:
Villager: What happened to you?

Moral of the story: Don’t chase happiness. Enjoy your life.

Movie Review: Shutter Island
Shutter Island is 2010, American film, directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Laeta Kalogridis, based on Dennis Lehane's 2003 novel of the same name. It stars Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams, and Ben Kingsley as central characters.
Two US Marshals are on board a small boat, traveling to the Ashecliffe Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island in Boston Harbor.
To the colors, or the lack of them in every set. Grey, black, white, brown, taupe..and the sudden, blinding brilliance of brick red, spring green, and sunset orange.
The background music, sometimes ventures into the plot: whether it is the note of old gramophone records: or that hauntingly beautiful song at the end, in Dinah Washington's voice, "This Bitter Earth."
The movie, apparently, 'became Scorsese's second highest-grossing film worldwide' and he remarked, apparently, that he would get double the box office returns, because the viewer would have no choice, but to see it twice, to understand the plot.

In the end when he learns the truth along with the audience,
1. He relapses again and continues to reject reality. He still believes that the fantasy world he has built around is the truth and that everyone at Shutter Island is part of a conspiracy
OR
2. DiCaprio accepts the reality but cannot live with the horrors of it. So, he acts as if he is still living in the fantasy world so that he gets lobotomized.

Such a perfect movie. An amazing breathtaking Psychological Thriller with a plot twist. Leonardo DiCaprio never fails to deliver. This is recommended as 1 of the top 100 movies u must watch.
