Paddleboarding at Pend Orielle Lake (pronounced POND O RAY) this afternoon ๐ This is the lake in the photos from our previous post of the Schweitzer Nature Trail hike. In some areas the lake is over 1,100 feet deep and it's the largest lake in Idaho! I said I'd never paddle a lake with sturgeon in it, but here I am ๐ฌ Sturgeon can grow to 20 ft long and weigh over 1,000 lbs๐ฒโ ๏ธ Jeff has the itch to catch one now ๐...I'm sure he'll make that happen! By the way if you're in the market for an inflatable paddleboard...I cannot say enough about these Roc Paddleboards! They have served us WELL and I wouldn't trade it for anything. They're super easy to transport, store, pump up and deflate! The only thing I didn't like was the paddle it came with, it's too heavy so we upgraded to some lighter weight ones. They come with everything you need to get started! However we also recommend getting an electric pump ๐

Schweitzer Nature Trail near Sandpoint, Idaho! Absolutely beautiful! Tough hike, steep and rocky but you can ride the ski lift down for free! To ride up it's $30 a person!...The icecream sandwich at the resort restaurant was well worth it ๐๐ Gingerbread cookie with huckleberry icecream, ridiculous combo...so stinkin good!

This week we boondocked in Island Park, Idaho at a beautiful spot right on the lake! We had dinner one night at a restaurant on the other side of the lake that had bear sighting signs posted everywhere. Apparently a grizzly had been visiting every night for the last 4 nights! ๐ฒ๐ณ Yellowstone National Park was beautiful of course, and even though we went late in the evening hoping to spot some animals, the elk were the only ones not feeling shy. By the way...visiting the park after 5 pm...HIGHLY recommend! It was so peaceful and much more enjoyable than fighting the crowds!

Big Springs and Johnny Sacks Cabin in Island Park, Idaho ~ What a cool place! First of all the springs are just incredible and I've never seen rainbow trout that huge in my life!! Johnny Sacks was a German immigrant who had excellent woodworking skills. He leased the land from the forest service and built a 5 room 2 story cabin all by himself in 1932. It took him 3 years. He was about as tall my 9 year old...4 ft 11. I forgot to get pictures of the beautiful cabin ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ but...if you're ever in the area it's a must see for sure!
Have you ever been to a restaurant featured on Diners Drive Ins & Dives?! Almost 3 years traveling the country full-time in our rv, and this was our first triple D restaurant! Firehouse BBQ in West Yellowstone ๐ ๐คค๐ค๐10 out of 10 recommend!!
Picked up a few goodies from Ocean Mart Asian market in Ogden, Utah ๐ Those tofu kimchi snacks are insanely good, sweet & spicy ๐ค Finally found a good oil bottle that doesn't make a mess, a new rice paddle that's textured so rice doesn't stick to it and a huge jar of Kimchi! ๐๐คคI love a good Asian market!! This one was the best I have ever been to! Salt Lake City and surrounding areas have a ton of great Asian markets! We stayed at Willard Bay State Park which was okay, the best part was Willard Bay. It was SO STINKING HOT! The beaches were nice and clean and that 78ยฐ water felt amazing! I hope you all are finding good ways to stay cool this summer, safe travels friends ๐ฅฐ

Have you ever made sourdough bread? I have waited entirely too long to try my hand at making it! Trust issues are ultimately what's been holding me back. I didn't want to use anyone else's starter. ๐ฌ You can never be ๐ฏ % sure the creator washed their hands ๐ฅด๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ Plus the satisfaction of making your own starter... ๐ค I want ALL the skills! ๐ Another thing holding me back was the feeding and discarding shenanigans. I ended up finding a video on YouTube for an EASY starter method, super old school way of doing it, no measurements just judging consistency and using your senses to figure out if it's working...that sort of thing. I just mixed this up about 5 minutes ago so I won't be baking bread in the rv for at least a week. Possibly 2 weeks! We'll see how it goes ๐ The cool Colorado mountain air might extend the growth period. If you have any tips or tricks, things I should know please help a girl out!! I am a total newbie to baking sourdough and I appreciate ANY & ALL help you can offer ๐ฅฐ

But one time, we were staying in an rv park in St. Louis and this lady kept walking her dog through our site. I politely asked her to stop and she said something about my dogs being jerks like me and proceeded to tell me that "around here we SHARE sites"...๐ can you even believe that?!
