Titans! We are officially announcing the newest club of PAREF Springdale!

With the use of technology for online classes and as a way to connect with friends, more and more students have discovered a liking for e-sports. With the new e-sports club, students will be taught and conditioned to learn different critical thinking skills and mechanics needed to excel at their preferred games. Not only will their individual skills be sharpened, but their ability to communicate and work as a team will be sharpened as well.

Coach Mario is well known all over the country as one of the few elite coaches. In between the years of 1996 and 2010, Coach Mario has participated and acquired in numerous coaching courses The Course of Modern Brazilian Football for Foreign Trainers and Coaches in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in September 1996 and the Two Day Coerver Coaching - Staff Coaching in Valentine Park Complex, New South Wales, Australia in September 2002 were two of these coaching courses he attended.

In August of 1984, he played in the National Team for the 8th Asian Cup Group Elimination in Jakarta, Indonesia, and in March of 1985, played in the 13th Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

One could say he has devoted all his time and energy to assist and teach students on the path to become a part of your future dream team.

Grátias tibi, Deus, grátias tibi for our new Chaplaincy appointments!

We welcome Rev. Fr. Manuel "Nonong" Belarmino, Jr., our new School Chaplain. He will replace Rev. Fr. Jose Gerardo "Gerry" Quejada, who will still be with us as our Assisting Chaplain.

Fr. Nonong was ordained as a priest for the Prelature of Opus Dei on June 9, 1996 in the Parish of St. Josemaria Escriva in Rome. Before coming to Cebu, he was the School Chaplain of PAREF Northfield School from 1997-2008 and PAREF Woodrose School from 2008-2010. He was also the Chaplain of some university study centers in Quezon City, Manila, Bacolod, and Iloilo.

Let us include him in our prayers as he journeys with us in our commitment to forming men of character.

Coaches Profile: Mr. Mikhail Dave M. Cabuguas is one of the pioneers to start the Springdale mission, and has been teaching in Springdale for 19 years. During those years, he has been guiding students and fellow teachers alike in the field of arts. He has been the Bughaw Arts instructor ever since he started in Springdale. Mr. Mikhail Dave M. Cabuguas is also a Visual Artist for more than 2 decades and is a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Painting at the University of the Philippines-Cebu.

Furthermore, Mr. Cabuguas’ fields of expertise do not only lie in arts but also in the game of Scrabble. He has been a Scrabble coach since 2016, and an international one at that. His team has won a number of local and international Scrabble events and is internationally ranked.

"Compassionate Titans," a program of PAREF Springdale SBO (Student Body Organization) was recently awarded as the 2021 Promising Practice by Character.org.

Besting the pool of 170 international submissions, the program featured the School's relentless efforts and consecutive acts of charity and service to the Cebuano community during the pandemic.

The program must possess "uniqueness, evidence of impact, alignment of the 11 principles framework of Character.org, and clarity of narrative" to qualify for the award.

The official recognition shall be done during the 2021 Virtual National Forum on October 20-22, 2022.

All of these would not be possible without the unselfish support and participation of the Springdale community.

🎖 NEWS | "Compassionate Titans" program of PAREF Springdale School, Inc. is one out of the two initiatives recognized by Character.org for 2021 Promising Practice in the Philippines (one out of the 170 internationally)

The "Compassionate Titans" program features the PAREF Springdale School's Student Body Organization (SBO) in their relentless and consecutive acts of charity and service to the Cebu community during the pandemic.

According to the official criteria, for an initiative to qualify as a "2021 Promising Practice", it must possess "uniqueness, evidence of impact, alignment of the 11 principles framework of Character.org, and clarity of narrative."

The declaration of was received through an e-mail last June 1, 2021 by the current Head of the Personal Formation Office (PFO) Freddie Gentallan, who also was the one responsible for compiling, naming, and sending the entry to Character.org.

According to Gentallan, while he had his part to play, "the school has the SBO to thanks for spearheading a noteworthy initiative with the help of their moderator, Gil Rosal, under the supervision of the Head of Students Affair Office (SAO) Mikhail Dave Cabuguas."

The official celebration and recognition for the recipients shall be held in the form of an event at the "2021 Virtual National Forum" on October 20-22, 2022.
