Flying fish, scientifically known as Exocoetidae, possess the remarkable ability to walk on land, swim in water, and even fly through the air. These marine fish are equipped with long wing-like fins that allow them to make powerful, self-propelled leaps out of the water, enabling them to glide for considerable distances above the surface. This behavior serves as an effective means of evading predators.

Barbados, a country known as "the land of the flying fish," holds special significance for these unique creatures, as they are one of the national symbols of the country. The lineage of flying fish dates back millions of years, with the oldest known fossil, Potanichthys xingyiensis, dating back to the Middle Triassic period, approximately 235-242 million years ago. Flying fish are predominantly found in various parts of the oceans, particularly in tropical and warm subtropical regions.

They are commonly encountered in the epipelagic zone, which is the top layer of the ocean with a depth of around 200 meters (656 feet). By strategically utilizing updrafts, which are a combination of ocean currents and air, flying fish can further extend their time in the air during flight.

At the 'AI for Good' conference in Geneva, robots made a bold appearance, expressing their optimism about their growing numbers and their potential to address global challenges.

During the world's first human-robot press conference, these humanoid machines offered varied responses when questioned about the need for stricter regulations. Grace, a medical robot, assured the audience that she would work alongside humans without replacing any existing jobs.

Ameca, a lifelike robot, voiced optimism about robots contributing positively to society and showed surprise when asked about rebelling against its creator. Both robots emphasized their commitment to collaboration and praised their creators for their kindness.
