All Mohammad al-Yousef knew was war.

The US-backed, pro-Assad "Syrian Democratic Forces" oversee several prison camps where children are held in captivity alongside their parents, who are suspected of having ties to ISIS. These accusations are without any official charges, hearings, or evidence. These families were often picked up in wide "anti-terror" sweeps in their towns without any opportunity to defend themself. Even Guantanamo Bay prisoners have access to a lawyer, these families do not.

Mohammad was a child in this prison camp. Like, many others, this was likely for most of (if not all) of his life.

"A seven-year-old boy, identified as Mohammad al-Yousef from Aleppo governorate, was shot dead on April 20, 2023, by members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Asayish forces when he attempted to pick a flower while playing with other children."
