I’ve really been trying to avoid political discussions on FB because they are frankly pointless and a waste time. However, I feel the need to share an important story for the sake of transparency because Fox News and other Right Wing News Outlets have whitewashed and ignored any bad coverage from the Jan 6th commission. The fact that Don Jr, Hannity, and Laura Inghram (among others) had to reach out to Mark Meadows to plead Trump to condemn and stop the attack on our Capitol speaks VOLUMES on many, many facets of the Trump Presidency.

1) Fox News had DIRECT influence over the Trump White House. Say why you want about the “Mainstream Media” but no one has or had the same type of direct access as some of the personalities at Fox did. Sean Hannity often boasted that he talked with Trump almost every day. It’s not normal.
2) By this point in the Trump Presidency, there were effectively no adults in the room telling the President to condemn the attack and tell people to go home. Surprisingly, Don Jr of all people was one of the adults telling his dad what to do.
3) Trump did not want the attack to stop for any number of reasons but most likely that these people were assaulting his political enemies IN HIS NAME.

This list continues on but you can see the picture that these texts paint.

“I'm pushing it hard. I agree,” Meadows replied.

Wow. I can never say “Words Matter” enough. In one person’s words “If Trump had come out and said QAnon is all made up, I would have left right away. I think the world of him and I would have done whatever he said.” Great reporting on people who are finally truly waking up to QAnon’s lies.

Things I’m still waiting to learn from the Trump Presidency:

- Where the Migrant Caravan from Central America?
- Trump’s Healthcare Plan
- What the meaning of Covfefe is?
- Who the “fine people on both sides” are?
- Finding the parents of 500+ kids who were separated from their families.
- How will Mexico will pay for the wall that wasn’t built?
- What the trade war with China actually accomplished?

I’m sure there’s more but that’s what I’ve come up with off the top of my head

Today marks a “return to normalcy” in Washington. Good or bad, normalcy is longer overdue and at least brings a much needed feeling of calm to the country. If nothing else, I’m looking forward to not having to turn on the news every night wondering what our Commander In-Chief has tweeted or said. I hope Joe Biden is truly dedicated to restoring the soul of the nation and uniting our fractured country because he certainly faces an uphill battle.

Now that the Electoral College votes have been certified, I can officially announce that Ariana Detwiler Curtis is the winner of our contest. She only missed one state, Minnesota, but correctly predicted AZ and GA for Joe Biden. In lieu of a gift card for her, I will do the dishes for a week straight haha!

Let’s be real clear about this today of all days: In just 4 years, Donald Trump (almost singlehandedly) cost Republicans control of the House, Presidency, and now Senate. Sadly, some of his fiercest allies want to double down on their rhetoric rather than learn from the mistakes of their agenda and conduct. This all spells disaster for the GOP. Some Republicans will likely not want to embrace him with open arms after this nightmare. This includes today’s mostly ceremonial Electoral College certification. And it’s only 2 short years until the GOP has to defend 20 of the 34 Senate seats up for election. All of this could be a signal of a potential GOP Civil War that could spill over into public view.

Glad to see that our President signed this. It’s not the greatest bill but imperative legislation rarely is. There will be more relief coming once the new administration is in power.

23/12/2020

Here's my take on the $2000 stimulus checks President Trump is demanding:

I have found myself continuing to view everything Trump has done over the last 30 days as paying it forward to his inevitable 2024 run. He has been remarkably absent not only from the White House but also his duties and negotiations (including this bill). He's not going to sign a bill that could potentially make him look bad and be used as ammunition against him in 2024.

All of this bring me to what I've been thinking about today: Trump carving out his space in the political spectrum. Being the marketing genius he is, Trump has continually found ways to stake claim to the Populist policies that are broadly supported by his supporters and, surprisingly, Liberals who despise him. However, most of what he supports in this bill flies in the face of Republicans who, for decades, have fought deficit spending and big government. If Trump is going to be the leader of the Republican Party in the Biden era, he needs to rectify his political differences between himself and ...well... the rest of Republican establishment. Senators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have been very valuable allies the last 4 years but their political differences may very well cause some major headaches for the party going into 2022 and 2024.

Whelp, here we are almost a month AFTER the election and somehow people still refuse to believe that there wasn’t rampant fraud in our election. Trump’s record in court was worse than the 1962 Mets’ record (look it up). This hopefully is the death rattle of the election lawsuits but certainly not the last we’ll hear unfounded and downright false claims that the election was rigged. To anyone still not ready to accept the results of the election, I leave you this advice - It’s better to understand why Trump lost and learn from it than to stew and complain that he didn’t win and learn nothing from it. The time to move on has long passed, don’t be the person yelling at trees.

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a widely panned bid by Texas to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's election win, delivering a devastating blow to President Trump's long-shot legal campaign.

The fact Bill Barr is affirming there was no widespread fraud that would have affected the outcome of the election speaks VOLUMES about the patently false information Trump and his Golem Rudy Giuliani have been trying to spread. This is the same Bull Barr who believes the Justice Department should be able to defend President Trump in a case where formerly-citizen Trump is accused of r**e. Let that sink in for a minute.

A rebuke from the president’s lawyer came after the attorney general affirmed that there was no evidence of large-scale fraud during this year’s election.

It’s nice to see that Biden’s initial Cabinet and Administration will be people with actual experience in the posts they are assigned to. It’s also nice to see that none of these people had to go on a cable news network to apply for their job.

And a Democratic divide over Confederate bases is threatening the NDAA.

12/11/2020

There seems to be a lot of consternation around Trump refusing to concede. I’m here to tell you to calm down. If TPMP has taught our listeners anything, it’s that knowledge is power. Nothing President Trump is doing is illegal, immoral, or Un-American. He and his campaign are simply exercising their legal and constitutional right to dispute election results (regardless of how outlandish some of their lawsuits may be).

Most states will certify their election results before Thanksgiving. Also, the law is written that the next President isn’t officially certified until the Electoral College votes on 12/14 and the outgoing President’s term officially ends at Noon on 1/20/21. President Trump has no legal standing to stay in office beyond that date should Joe Biden be elected by the Electoral College. Lastly, reports indicate that he will give the closest thing to a concession speech when Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania certify their results.

“The Erie Post Office did not back date any ballots,” he said.

09/11/2020

As cases of alleged voter fraud fly around Facebook and Twitter, I wanted to take a look at one specific case that keeps getting a lot of attention. Before I take a deep dive, let me just say that cases of alleged voter fraud should be fully investigated and, if found guilty, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

CLAIM: USPS Employees in Erie, PA were told to backdate the postmark on mail-in ballots.

IMPORTANT BACKGROUND: The Pennsylvania Secretary of State said, and the Supreme Court reinforced, that any ballots received after polls closed on Election (11/3 @ 8pm) will be segregated and counted separately from any absentee or mail-in ballot received before polls closed. Therefore, backdating a postmark on a mail-in ballot would only apply to ballots that were not in-hand by 11/3 @ 8pm. According to several knowledgeable sources I’ve found, the number of ballots received after the polls closed is believed to be less than 60,00 statewide. Most people who requested mail-in ballots knew there would be legal challenges to the them if received late so many of them sent them in early or dropped them off well ahead of time (like yours truly).

VERDICT: On a scale from 1 (very low) to 10 (high), I would give this a 3. A) This isn’t voter fraud in the traditional sense. B ) We simply don’t know if this is true or the context of why these statements were allegedly made by a USPS supervisor. (Could the backdating apply to ballots found in the wrong pile, etc) C) The total number of votes that would have been affected by this alleged policy is unknown but it logically would have to be less than the 60,000 statewide ballots mentioned previously. These have been heavily Democractic leaning (in some cases 65% to 35%) As of right now, Biden leads by 45,000 votes so this would have no impact on the result of the election. However, allegations such as this create mistrust in our election and should be investigated fully.

TPMP congratulates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on winning the race for the White House. While it's important to celebrate this momentous occasion, it is equally important to reach out to those who supported President Trump to offer sincere condolences as well as letting them know that you remember how you felt when Donald Trump won in a shocking upset 4 years ago. If we want to make our country less divided, it will take hard work, dedication, and soul-searching not only at the national level but also at the individual level. It will take individual understanding that ideology is not meant to be dogma but rather a pathway. It will take individual understanding that compromise is needed so that we can all move forward together. We can do this but we have to want it and work hard at it.

Biden has just taken the lead in Erie County, PA which has long been seen as the bellwether county of the PA. Obama won it twice and Trump won it 4 years ago. Biden winning it back shows that Trump has seen his popularity decrease in some key blue collar areas since the last election.

Unless Biden increases his lead in NV by a wide margin, don't expect this race to be called any time soon.

Unless Biden increases his lead in NV by a wide margin, don't expect this race to be called any time soon.

Nevada, which has six electoral votes up for grabs, had over 1 million ballots cast prior to Election Day, surpassing the state's total 2016 turnout.

05/11/2020

It's been 24 hours since polls closed here in PA! I wanted to give quick update of where the election stands and what to expect from the race here on out.
