Learning to shoot with an air rifle (pellet gun), an essential life skill. We don’t hunt (we would in a survival situation), we don’t start fights (but we do finish them when all else fails) but it’s still good to know how to shoot accurately. Beside which, it’s fun!

☠️ Poisonous Hemlock (Conium maculatum), a notoriously poisonous plant, hemlock produces umbrella-like clusters of white flowers in summer. It can be found in damp places, such as ditches, riverbanks and waste ground, one to watch out for, especially with kids.

The famous Greek Philosopher Socrates was executed with hemlock, insisting a scribe document the process of his death, not something you want to experience! 😳

Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium) is everywhere at the moment. Its sap is less toxic than that of giant hogweed (and some other umbellifers), so doesn't cause the same skin irritation.
