I’ve been fascinated by this gantry since I saw it in the factory shop manual years ago. I’ve tried to find someone who had made, used or even seen one IRL with zero luck. Quite honestly, anyone I showed this to didn’t believe it would work and would destroy the car’s fenders. I was skeptical as well, which gave me more of a reason to build it. I’m working on a YouTube video explaining the gantry so subscribe to stay updated (YT link in bio). I’m also going to draw up some plans and parts list for anyone that wants to build one.

Cart is done. Using the pan geometry lock down dimensions I used some furniture dollies and a couple of 2x4s to create a simple structure. I needed a cart that would allow me to work on the interior metal without having to climb around a jungle gym.
