Sold out of ALL of my produce, met so many sweet and wonderful people and got to be next to one of my literal idols who by the way has been SO supportive and encouraging throughout my journey. 🥹

Last year I had a goal of selling my produce at farmers markets.

I had grown the basics (tomatoes, peppers, squash and cucumbers) for my family for years and had bountiful harvests that could’ve fed far more than just our family.

So last year I planted 50 tomato plants, 22 pepper plants and the lists goes on..

It went so terribly and I hardly grew enough for just my family.

I felt so defeated and thought “what am I doing?” “I’m not cut out for this”

But last year was my year to stop feeling sorry for myself. To give my goals all I have despite mistakes, setbacks and self doubt.

So when fall rolled around I tried again. Everything was thriving and growing in abundance.

Then winter came and I lost a good bit of it.

Did I give up? NO!

This past weekend I completed my first farmers market selling produce I worked so hard to for and put so much love into growing.

Was it a table full of produce? No.

Am I disappointed in myself? NO!!

One big goal for 2024 was to complete my first farmers market with produce. Does that mean just because my harvest was smaller than I thought that this farmers market didn’t count! Heck no!!

I still grew something that provided people in my community with healthy food that hasn’t been sprayed with toxic chemicals or farmed unethically.

That alone is a huge win for me.

But don’t worry I am a woman on a mission to sell heirloom produce this summer and I am not giving up!

I have to add that if it weren’t for a few amazing women that gave me advice, encouragement and someone to look up to.. I am not sure I would still be here chasing my dream. You know who you are 😉

With that being said.. surround yourself with people who care and who lift you up when you’re on the verge of giving up.

Here’s to 2024 being better than last year! ✨🥬🥕

I get a lot of questions about what I’m growing this time of year. Like me in previous years I thought gardening ended in the fall and started again next spring.

But guess what?! You can grow tons of amazing veggies right now!

So here 3 easy to grow veggies you can plant right now!

One of my favorites is Pak Choi (a Chinese cabbage) germinates very well and mine hasn’t been bothered by the frost! 🥬

Carrots are another great way to plant something the whole family will eat! Because trust me no one can resist a freshly harvested carrot 🥕

Lettuce! 🥬 who said salads are for summer?! Lettuce actually does best in cool weather! However it isn’t frost tolerant so frost cloth is a must right now.

So go ahead and get some seeds and get planting! You don’t need a fancy garden or a huge plot of land. I’m always here to answer questions and help in any way! My goal is for everyone to grow something at least once.

You’ll be surprised at how fulfilling it can be ✨

I finally grew broccoli 😍🥦

My summer broccoli was comical and basically fed all the pests and never produced anything (my fault not amending the soil)

With the help of good friends and good advice I am finally starting to see my hard work come to fruition.

My son LOVES broccoli and I feel so accomplished to be able to provide him with good food I grew myself. It is a feeling I’ll never get over.

Can’t wait to see what we are able to grow next year! ✨

This thanksgiving week while we were all visiting family and enjoying our time to reflect on what we’re thankful for… my friend Mady’s goats were the target of an evil attack and sadly were left for her to find the next morning.

I can’t imagine who would do this to such a beautiful family but if you live in Lauren’s county and hear anything at all please contact local authorities so we can get justice for Mady and her sweet sweet goats that she and her family cared so much for.

It’s believed that because she grows food in her yard and it’s not “well manicured” is the reason she was targeted.

Mady, I just want to say that we all stand with you, support you and hurt for and with you. Keep doing you and being the badass woman you are!!

Karma is alive and well and I believe the people who did this will get theirs!

A little glimpse of what’s been going on lately!

Harvested some beautiful carrots for dinner last night. 🥕👩‍🌾

Repotted some mullein for markets next year! 🌿

Tomatoes in the greenhouse are doing good so far 🍅

And calendula in the greenhouse is still coming in 🌼

Now if only I could get my broccoli plants to actually grow broccoli 😅

I told myself I was done with markets for the year but how on earth could I pass up being a vendor at this BEAUTIFUL location 😍

First of all I love Pendleton! It’s so cute and there’s tons of places to check out when you’re in the area!

First stop being to shop local this Christmas!

Because let’s be real y’all when you shop small you aren’t getting mass produced items where small defects and originality are an obvious issue.

A small business spends countless hours working diligently on every single product because we’re proud of it! And we want YOU to enjoy it just as much if not more than we do!

Finally found the perfect bread recipe!! 🙌🏼🍞

I can’t tell you how many I’ve tried and I truly thought maybe I just don’t know how to make bread 🤷🏼‍♀️

Turns out I just needed a better recipe and to use bread flour instead of all purpose.

I used bread flour and a little birdy told me they are actually in Greenville doing a pop-up! 😍

Can’t 💩?

Now listen, I know it’s a weird topic but it’s an important part of our bodies process to rid itself of waste.

And if you aren’t getting rid of it properly it can cause pain, bloating, necrosis, obstruction, infection and even death.

So if you’re out of breath trying to pinch one off…. It might be time to look into a remedy to help ya out 😅

Anywho, here’s a super simple and easy way to start your day.

Take 1 tablespoon of psyllium husk and mix it in 12oz of water to sit overnight. When you wake up drink the mixture. The frequency of this is really based on how much help you need.

So listen to your body and if you’re feeling a little backed up try this super simple 💩 water and make sure you’re getting enough fiber in your diet friend 🫶🏼 and try flaxseed in your meals!

A little late but with the frost I had to harvest all of my luffa 🌿🧽

While they weren’t able to get as big and fully developed as I was hoping I still grew something new and learned a lot about it in the process!

My garlic is doing so good so far! 😍
I told y’all I’d be back with updates 😂

If you thought I was excited when they first sprouted you can imagine my excitement when I saw this!

Last year I planted garlic in March and let lemongrass grow in my garden ALL summer thinking it was garlic 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Don’t let the stores fool you and sell you garlic in the spring. 🙃

So even this small achievement is better than last years attempt and that means progress! ✨
