Recently we got to sit down with the Irish wonder, James Murphy ☘️

James is the co owner of a fantastic cocktail bar called St LuJa which is based on Fitzroy Street, St. Kilda Melbourne 🌆

In this weeks episode we managed to have a chat with James and find out how a man who arrived in Australia many years ago, whom knew nothing about the hospitality industry has rose through the ranks to become an incredibly knowledgeable figure in the cocktail industry and come to own a bar that has stood the test of time and a pandemic.

Let us tell you now, St Luja is a fantastic little quirky venue that you must visit if you are ever in the St. Kilda area. Bars like this need your support especially now more than ever, plus you won’t be disappointed as James and his team make very very outstanding cocktails. 🍹

In this latest episode we were very very lucky to speak to Mr Duane Fraser!!!

Mr Duane Fraser is a Wulgurukaba and Bidjara Traditional Owner, and has extensive experience advising Commonwealth and State Governments on matters relating to Indigenous Affairs and Environmental Policy.

Mr Frasers enjoys a diverse national and global network that includes high level influencers, current and ex-politicians from both major parties, senior executives, and grass roots communities. He uses his profile to create positive change and impact to ensure Traditional Owners are given the opportunity for full and effective participation and leadership roles at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life. Mr Fraser has presented at numerous international fora on the advancement of Indigenous peoples of the World and their empowerment in the protection and safeguarding of their delicate biocultural land and seascapes, heritage and cultural expressions.

Currently Chair the Federal Minister for the Environments Indigenous Advisory Committee (IAC), Mr Fraser serves on on several high level boards including The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Elected Councillor of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Studies and more recently Tourism and Events Queensland, to name a few.

Also as important, Mr Duane Fraser got on the beers 🍻

Just to make our fans aware… We haven’t turned to a life of crime in our time away from the mic over in Perth…

At around 8.30pm on Saturday 10 July 2021, a group of five men were sitting in an outside area having drinks at a licenced premises on Adelaide Terrace in Perth. As the men were leaving the premises, some of the men started throwing drinking glasses onto the footpath and street smashing the glasses. The smashing of glass continued as the group walked away along Adelaide terrace.

We've been quiet for a bit as we've taken a bit of a break during the Xmas and New Year period, mostly due to the fact that we've all been so drunk that we don't know how to turn the microphones on.

Dave is still trying to get his internet sorted up on the island as well, so we're going to use that as an excuse too.

We'll be back really soon so you can listen to us whilst you go to sleep or, more likely, do a poo.

It’s that time of the week and that means it’s Podcast day!!!!

Not any location though however, we were recording on the beautiful rooftop of Hotel Barkly St Kilda with majestic views of the St. Kilda skyline accompanied by their incredible venue manager Kerry Farquhar.

In this episode we talk about Kerry’s story, how she arrived from Edinburgh, Scotland and how she rose in the St. Kilda community to become the well respected venue manager of an incredibly popular venue, which has had stars like Justin Bieber and David Beckham grace their bar.

Movember started off raising awareness for Prostate Cancer but we feel over the years it’s meaning has expanded from that to come to include Men’s mental health which has been a stigma to talk about to say the least.

Let’s do the facts... Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, except for skin cancer. This year in the United States alone an estimated 191,930 men will be diagnosed with this form of cancer.

Now onto Men’s mental health... It is estimated that globally on average, one bloke will die from su***de every minute of every day.

These are the things WE, ALL OF US, need to get better at talking about because any death is one death too many.

So do us a favour lads, check your nuts, and don’t bottle up them feelings because you’re too bloody valuable 🍺
