Fosters Trick or Treat is over, but we have already started getting stuff for next year. 😆😄 We cant give you an exact number of people, but we can say without a doubt (Based off food passed out) 475 Hamburgers/hot dogs, 375 socks. We Also passed out 500 bags of popcorn, and gave away over 6000 pieces of candy. Our estimated guess is 1500+ people total (and that may be underestimating the total amount of guests).
We wanted to take some time out to thank some people that helped us with everything this year. See we do this event out of our own pocket. We do not take any cash donations (Candy donations only) and we do not receive any grants or funding. Just the money from our 9 – 5. The smiles on the kids faces, and bringing everyone of all races together for one safe, fun, free, event is why we do it. We do this for no other reason. Multiple people donated their services to make this event a success. Get ready for next year. We have something really special planned already.
Charles Black and Juanita Black donated their services supplying the kids with Hotdogs and Chips. I’m still in shock when I look at the pictures and videos and see their trailer parked in front of our house. This was incredible to us, to have such an established food service like this present at our event. The Blacks stayed until they ran out of food to give away. Thank you so much. We can not say it
enough.
Deidra Collins-Woods and Latarius Woods We always wanted to ask you two, but honestly was terrified to ask. These two right here, showed up and showed out, in the cold, doing what they do best. Seeing the kids faces on that 360-photo booth was everything. The way Deidra interacted with each and every guest, first class service. Then Latarius had these kids and grown ups dancing throughout the whole event. Playing all varieties of music. He didn’t know it, but I was straight smiling with the way he switched the music up.
Marzell J. Jordan, our special guest. Man broooo you have no idea how much we look forward to having you there. You are a professional. You know just how to interact with the kids. When to scare them when not to. I know I said it before, but this event will not be the same without you. Been there since day one. Still trying to figure out how you scared me and I knew it was you. We thank you.
Paul Adams and Lisa Casey. Thank you for everything. Constant promoting and taking lead on the trunk or treat. You two also brought in several candy donations. Amazing work behind the scenes. Next year we need a good 20 cars…lol. We really appreciate you both.
Latrisha Cole (Shining Stars Foundation) donated 375 pairs of socks and passed them all away. We cant thank you enough for your donation and participating. Thank you so much.
Chersh Russell you showed up early in the AM to make sure the backdrop was perfect and ready. You never hesitate to help out with this event. You are also a pro and one of the best at your craft. Thank you again.
Michael Junior We have alot of cleaning up to do. We didnt and dont know how to get rid of all the Hay Bales and Corn Stalks. Michael thank you so much for coming through for us and taking this away. 18 bales of hay and about 15 cornstalks. Cant say it enough. THANK YOU.
Julie Crye, our son Ray, and Kiana thank you for running popcorn and candy. We appreciate the extra hands and effort you put in to keep the line moving. That popcorn line is a REAL job!!! Thank You.
Doreece Harvey thank you for offering help at every point from set up to tear down and especially the last minute candy run so we wouldn’t run out! We couldn't have finished strong without you.
Also, to our neighbors. Everyone on the 2700 block of Elizabeth. You all had to agree to the street being blocked off. Thank you all for allowing us to have this event. We are normal people for 11 months out of the year.
There were also many people that showed up to show support for the kids. I would be here all day if I tried to name everyone. Get ready for 2024.
