75 Saved As Rescue Operations Resume Following Deadly Landslide In India

Officials in India's western Maharashtra state have resumed rescue operations following a deadly landslide caused by heavy rains, which claimed the lives of at least 16 people, while many others remain feared trapped under the debris. So far, 75 people have been rescued.

In response to the disaster that occurred late on Wednesday, scores of rescuers and trained trekkers have been mobilized to search for those trapped by the landslide.

Challenging weather conditions have hindered rescue efforts, prompting authorities to dispatch medical teams to aid the injured. On Thursday night, search operations were suspended due to continuous heavy rainfall and the looming threat of further landslides, as reported by the National Disaster
