Secrets of the secret classes

Dusk, Dawn, and Mech are the three “Secret Classes” in Axie Infinity. Secret class Axies are hard to breed, and there are no secret class cards. This is a disadvantage because when an Axie uses a card from its own class, it gets an extra 10% attack and shield bonus.

But wait, that just means secret classes are considerably weaker compared to the others with class bonuses right? Yes and no.

In terms of class advantage, secret classes share the same advantages and disadvantages as the classes they enjoy the card bonus from. For example, Dusk which gains a 7.5% class bonus from playing Reptile and Plant cards, also gains additional 15% damage against Aquas Birds and Dawns – just as Reptiles and Plants would.

Also, there are rumors brewing that Mech, Dusk, and Dawn classes might be getting their own moves in the future, but it is still not known when or what those will be yet.

The Speed Stalemate Conundrum

We know that faster Axies (i.e. higher speed) will get to move first – but what happens when 2 or more Axies share the same speed? Spoiler alert: it is not a 50:50 coin toss.

In that case, turn order is then determined by comparison of the following stats in sequence:

Lower HP
Higher Skill
High Morale
Low Axie ID

Axie Classes
Classes are similar to “types” in Pokemon. Certain Classes are stronger or weaker against other Classes. Here is the basic chart.

The Axie that has the class advantage will deal +15% damage and disadvantage will deal -15% damage. For example, a Bird class Axie deals +15% damage to a Beast class Axie. Also, when an Axie of a certain class uses a card from its own class, it gets a 10% attack and shield bonus. For example, a Plant Axie playing a plant card will receive 10% extra attack/shield. Important to note is that these bonuses stack. A Beast Axie using a Beast card against a Plant target will do 25% (10% + 15%) more damage.

"As a brand new and innovative game, Axie Infinity is not without its challenges and there are definitely risks around its sustainability if player growth plateaus. However, the Sky Mavis team is very aware of these risks and are actively addressing them in intelligent ways. Also, I do not see the growth of the player base plateauing anytime soon given it is far from mainstream notoriety. There will likely be volatility over time though so that is definitely something to be aware of for anyone investing into the game. Chaining Bonus

Chaining is when two or more axies play the same class of card in a round. The class of the axie bodies do not matter for chaining. For example and an bqua axie plays Beech (plant card) and a bug axie plays Shiitake (plant card) they would be chained and get a shield bonus of about 5-6%.

Chain Bonus Example:

- Axie 1 plays Carrot (plant) and Hermit (aqua)
- Axie 2 plays Shiitake (plant) and Tiny Dino (reptile)

Carrot (40 base shield) and Shiitake (40 base shield) are both plant so they get the Chain Bonus. Hermit and Tiny Dino do not have any other cards of their class played so they keep their base shield. The shields for each axie is added together.

Same Class Shield Bonus:

This bonus to shield is the “same class bonus” thats similar to attacks. For each defending part you play that is the same class as the defending body, it will get a 10% bonus.

Same Class Attacking Axie & Card

Another variable in the damage calculation is whether the attacking Axie is using a card that is in the same class as its body. For example a beast that has Imp, or Goda.

Axie class advantages are based on the old game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors”. Every class in Axie Infinity has classes that it gets a 15% damage bonus against, and there’s other classes that get a bonus against it.

"We have received some reports about players being able to farm extra SLP on level 21 and are currently looking into it.

It’s possible that this is a visual bug, but to be safe we have disabled SLP rewards on level 21 and 36 for now.

Edit: if you farmed some extra SLP it could disappear in the coming days once the server catches up.

This is another reason why we have a 14 day claim period - more time to observe if potential bugs are abused."
