Bear Family Records are set to release the tenth entry into their long-running The Brits Are Rocking series.
The album will feature 34 tracks by Cliff Richard and the Shadows recorded between 1958 and 1962.

This album presents 34 of his most rocking songs from 1958 to 1962, including Move It!, High Class Baby, Dynamite, Choppin' 'n' Changin', and Livin' Lovin' Doll, as well as numerous cover versions of popular U.S. rock 'n' roll hits.

Extensive, enjoyable liner notes by expert on British beat and rock 'n' roll, Ashley Wood, in the illustrated booklet with discographical details and many photos.
Carefully remastered recordings from the best possible sources by one of the greats of pop history!

I see some of us are in different minds over the album that’s coming out.

My thoughts:

To be honest I didn’t think there would be an album this year, well not a new proper one. I thought maybe another greatest hits album but didn’t expect something like this. Which is good. It’s not just another same old package. Yes we get Summer Holiday etc but from the small snippet we have heard of The Young Ones it’s not the original recording. Perhaps some of the songs are using newer vocals from live performances?

Definitely looking forward to hearing a ‘strings’ version of Marmaduke, which until the Great 80s Tour I felt was underrated and over looked as a really good song.

I wasn’t shocked to hear Cliff say all he had to do for it was choose the songs, which I think is pretty good. Having him choose these songs could it be that they are some of the songs for the tour later this year? As much as we’d like Living Doll left out of concerts and albums it was his first number one.

Could this be a number one? Time will tell. It’s definitely one for the collection and I’m sure we would all love for it to be.

Remember, the best thing about liking an artist such as Cliff is that we all don’t have to agree, we all don’t have to like every single song or album, there is no terms and conditions.

We are still getting albums and tours so let’s just ‘strap ourselves in and enjoy the ride’.
