President Trump's absurd crusade against mail-in voting is why the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is now at the top of the presidential hit list. Never mind that sabotaging the USPS is unconstitutional. Never mind that trying to influence an election is precisely why the president was impeached last December. Never mind that the president himself votes by mail. Today marks 100 days until the general election in America. I thought I would take a look at what some of the top election handicappers are projecting for the presidential race in November. Cook Political Report Cook Political Report is currently forecasting 308 Electoral College (EC) votes as solid, likely, or lean Democrat, compared to 187 solid, likely, or lean EC votes for the Republicans (270 EC votes are required to win). The president held his first coronavirus briefing in nearly three months today. The briefing did not appear to break news, besides the fact that the president has now completely reversed himself on mask wearing & is acknowledging that things "will get worse before they get better."
