❤️DEAR FRIENDS❤️

I was trying to figure out a good way to say this and this is the best I can do.
I have to stop managing this Instagram about our beautiful Kona.
As of the beginning of this week, after years together Kona’s dogdad and I broke up and Kona stayed with him.

I can not put into words how grateful I am to all of you for sticking with us and reading my long posts everyday and the immense support and all the love. This community is truly a positivity island amongst all the craziness out there in the world. I learned a lot form You guys and will carry this experience with me forever.

I will post here if anything interesting happens in the future If you don’t mind still following this page of course. (Feel free to unfollow too)

I still have a bunch of gorgeous pictures of her but I don’t want to make it seem like I am still with them so I won’t post them on here as usual.

I truly wish the best to all of you, you made so many of my evenings better when I was on here talking to you.

All the best, Kona and her family. ❤️

✨Smelling the last bits of weekend air✨

Hope you all had some amazing adventure or cuddle time this weekend☺️

I was at the equine hospital all weekend examining and walking the patients. This means that even though I had caption ideas I couldn’t find the time to actually write them. 🙈
I promise things will get back to their regular groove tomorrow 😉
Until then, lots of hugs and Congrats to my American friends❤️

✨HOW TO FIND VALUABLE ACCOUNTS TO FOLLOW ✨

If you are anything like me you love if your feed is filled with pictures of your friends and beautiful content. Let me tell you how you can find quality content to inspire you every day!☺️

🔸Best technique is to look up the accounts that people you already follow share in their stories as shoutouts. These are like a well curated menu for you to pick from with an enormous possibility of you liking them because there’s usually a big commonality between what you and the person sharing it likes.

🔸Search hashtags that you often use and would like to see more of and look up the top accounts that show up there. I even follow some of those hashtags to see more accounts who use those. I usually search up .
These hashtags fit our content as well and I will most likely like these type of accounts without too much thinking ❤️

🔸Check who your favorite accounts follow 😉 You will definitely find inspiration there!

Edited with my preset “Kona’s rustic love“ and a few Lightroom brush tool touch-ups.
The preset pack is available through a link in my bio✨

🧡BONDING🧡

Do you know that dogs have their love languages too so to speak?🤔

Of course there’s things that every dog likes, deserves and should get such as clear communication, some sort of schedule and love.

But there’s always exceptions for example Kona doesn’t need and appreciate physical touch as much as other dogs I’ve met. On the other hand she strives for structured playtime and physical activities together.
That is one of the reasons why we do canicross or just regular running with her 🤗

What do you think your dog’s love language is?😉

✨WHAT MAKES A GOOD CAPTION✨

We could never agree in a million years if short or long captions are the way to go so I won’t go into that. Although if You’d like I can do another post sharing their advantages and disadvantages so you can decide for yourself 😉

People see your picture or video first, if they like that then they might read your caption too. So to increase your engagement you should definitely make your visual content better first(see in previous posts)🤗

After that you can focus on captions.
The three main functions of captions that you have to keep in mind every time you write:
🔸Inspire🔸 Entertain🔸Teach
If you want more engagement in the comments your caption should do at least one of those three things.

If you can, include a question or a “call to action” sentence: comment your favorite type of leashes/tag your best friend/click the link in my bio. I’d also say here that “How was your day “ alone is not cutting it anymore. People want one of the three things above so at least put together another sentence too.

If you are dishonest, non genuine and salesy in your captions people will know instantly and you won’t get the expected engagement!

You don’t feel like making up a joke or teaching anything? Do not worry your favorite quotes are here to help you.
If they fit the post well, they will work perfectly and be entertaining.

Other ideas for captions:
Be informative but do not drag on, write about behind the scenes stuff, share whole instructions (camera settings, treat ingredients...), tell a story that happened to you or someone close to you( is very good at this), short and sweet caption emphasizing something funny or interesting in the picture.
Just pretend like you are talking to your friend 😁

If you are still lost after all these tips Captiona is an app to help you come up with lines.

Hope this helps you get that desired comment boost 😍
If you found this useful share this post with a friend who also struggles with captions sometimes ❤️

🎨EDITING TOOLS FOR EVERYONE🎨

No editing tool can change the fact that Kona looks tired of the world in this picture 😅
What makes your dogs cheer up everytime?🤔

These apps and programs are what changed my editing from Instagram filters to way more sophisticated:

🧡Lightroom!!!!
This bad boy is what I use all the time.
They have a free mobile app or you can have it on your desktop.
It allows a more professional way of editing but it is still very user friendly and simple. You can import someone else’s or make your own presets that make the first big step of editing towards a more professional looking image.
After you get bored of using only presets you can start using the more difficult tools on top of that like the brush tool to highlight or change the color of everything.
There’s many more advanced tools and endless improvement possibilities on there too.
🧡Photoshop
It makes my latest pictures look more special. You can connect it to your LR and just use it for minor editing like erasing eye gunk, dust from fur etc with the healing tool☺️
There’s also a free mobile app for you to try, it is called Photoshop fix. It is great for removing objects, coloring something blunt and so on.
I always find it a little hard to make precise adjustments on my phone so I stick to my computer whenever I can.

So my regular workflow right now looks something like this:
Import to LR, select best images, fit my presets on them, I edit them individually in LR by adjusting colors, highlighting Kona and her eyes, move the image to PS to make the bigger adjustments in the background, remove any mess off of Kona, take image back to LR finalize colors.
I’ve put a little sneak peak into my stories and placed them in our “Edits” highlights about these steps.

How do you edit? I try to not edit on my phone but some of you guys are very good!😍

If you need a jumpstart and like our feed the link to my presets is in my bio🧡

✨HOW TO FIND A THEME FOR YOUR FEED✨

That moss just looks so fluffy😍
Would you also roll around in it like I did?😉

This is not going to be as factual as my other Instagram tips usually are. I can only say what I’ve seen on bigger and more successful accounts and what I’ve experienced in the last three months on ours🤗

You definitely should look at other accounts and get inspiration from what seems to be working for them because even if you wanted to you can not replicate the exact same picture and overall feed look. You just have a very different skill set, audience and dog!😁
Therefore, if you are lost you can copy as much as you want you will never get the same exact result as the other account but still it’s worth trying what others are doing and mixing it with your own unique style.

There’s a variety of feed grid styles that are proven to be working, trying them might help you in finding what works best for you and your audience. For this I recommend Googling “Instagram grid styles”.

One thing that I am certain of is that if you really do not know what you want those pictures to look together, following a consistent color scheme should do the trick! (Presets/ lots of editing or similar locations help)

There’s some very successful accounts that only photograph in 1-2 places so they can keep their colors consistent. Great example:
On the other hand if you have gorgeous surroundings and love to hike, take pictures in bigger batches on your adventures and use them later which also results in similar colors in your feed. Example:

To summarize, you should work with what you got and what is easily available for you. If you plan on being here for the long run simplifying things is the way to go!😉

ACCOUNTS ON YOUR PICTURES @

How many accounts do you usually tag on your pictures?🤔

You might ask: “would tagging the same accounts on my post each time also count as 'spam' for Instagram, like the recurring hashtags?”

In my opinion, for sure!
We all know you should tag some reposting accounts in your given niche in the hope that one of them reposts and CREDITS YOU so their audience can see your post and might visit your page, but here’s the catch:

🔸Don’t tag the same accounts on every picture. As I’ve mentioned before Instagram is highly sensitive towards anything repetitive so it might even set you back instead of giving you a visibility chance
🔸Research the accounts you’d like to tag and see if their content matches yours. If they only post videos of golden puppies even though their name is something like “dogoftheday” or whatever do not tag them in your grown black dog’s Instagram where you only post pictures it’s just a waste of your time
🔸Less is more! Don’t clutter your images with tagging all of the maximum 20 accounts as it might work same as the hashtags that using the max amount puts you at a disadvantage. Instead tag about 2-10 accounts🤗
🔸If there’s any brands on the picture tag them! They always need content and you might get featured in their stories or even feed!
🔸Even if a bigger page shares your picture you’re account most likely won’t grow too much overnight. Your awesome image/video usually gets a ton of likes on their feed but most people aren’t clicking through to go back to your page. Some might! But don’t put too much pressure on this one😉

Hope it helps to clarify tags a little bit with the intricate science of Instagram!
If you found this useful I’d appreciate it if you sent this to a friend who also needs it🥰

WHEN YOUR DINNER IS 2 MINUTES LATE

Sound on for the symphony 🔈🎼

Kona has a very punctual clock in her body and she hasn’t quite grasped what resetting daylight savings and clock changing is😅
Her dinner time is usually at 16:00 so now the impatience starts an hour earlier.

While we are at the topic of patience. How do you calm your dogs when they are impatient?

For us playtime, extra commands for distraction and calming talk works best🤗

For a long time we only told her to STOP more and more strictly when she was impatient and vocal with us because that’s we should try to stop that unwanted behavior. Since then we realized that even though dogs are very independent they’re also very communication centered and they need a lot of reassurance from their humans. So we are also doing the above mentioned things now and only command her to stop when she is way over the top.
It seems to be working well now but it is still not always clear which one she needs at the given moment.
Thankfully she is very patient with us as we try to learn her ways😅

Any other suggestions to keep impatience to the minimum are welcome😉
As always I’d love to hear your opinion 🧡

🌿DON’T BELIEVE YOUR EYES🌿

I love how Kona stands in this picture she is so confident and powerful!
It looks like we are in the middle of nowhere but do not be fooled it was a Saturday with perfect autumn weather so hikers were everywhere. We had to pause shooting and recall Kona every few minutes😅

Swipe for before editing and posing ➡️

It makes shooting so much easier that we taught her and ourselves how to pose so posing tips incoming!!

Even though she has the same stance and perfect stay on the second picture as well as you can see she has a very “discouraged “ face. It is only normal but it looks much better for a picture if she is paying eager attention ☺️

Our tricks to get her to look interested:
🔸Throw a tiny stick in the direction you want her to look in but make her stay
🔸High value treats
🔸Her favorite ball moving up and down
🔸Her ‘dad’ slowly walking away in one direction

While editing this shoot’s pictures I made a new preset and named it tribute because Kona 100% reminds me of Luka here 🥰

What is your pups key to attention?😉

🌍TIPS TO BE A MORE SUSTAINABLE DOG OWNER🌍

This is an intro to a series about sustainability methods helping you to become a more pet owner with tiny steps and changes🤗

In the US alone there are more than 70 million dogs kept as family pets and as I’ve mentioned in a previous post they have a surprisingly large effect on the environment.

1.Shop smarter
2.Adopt don’t shop
3.Invest in sustainable pet food
4.Use non-toxic pet care products
5.Clean up waste properly
6.Recycled/ renewable accessories and toys
7.Less driving, more walking

~~Shop smarter!~~

🔸I know most of you already have reusable shopping bags but have you ever thought about buying stuff for your pet using reusable produce bags?
You can use these to get tasty treats at your local stores and farmer’s markets we use it to get carrots, dried pig ears and so on. We sometimes use durable plastic containers to get stuff(🧀) in a manner for Kona as well.
🔸Shop local if possible. Less shipping and transportation = more sustainability. We do a lot of our shopping at the farmers market and local stores.
If you only have large stores near you you can still use your own bags instead of getting multiple plastic ones at the store!
🔸Buy in bulk. Whatever you buy for your pet get it in the biggest available package size to reduce packaging and transportation pollution. So if you have been feeding your dog the same kibble for years buy the largest package(12-15kg)! It saves you money and a lot of waste for the environment 🌿
🔸If you can, opt for plastic free/recycled options regarding toys, packaging, beds, leads and collars, etc. I will show you some companies that are great at making beautiful pet accessories in a very eco friendly way 🥰

The rest of the list will be explained in later posts 🤗

Do you have a farmers market in your town? Because here in Hungary there’s plenty! Even in the inner fancy parts of Budapest 😍

🎃REPLACING PUMPKINS WITH A BALL🎃

Funny story we live next to a school. Kids regularly kick their football over to our garden and occasionally they find Kona too big and intimidating to ring the bell to get it back so she has basically an unlimited supply of free footballs 😂🙈

Anyway how many of you actually carve out your pumpkins? We had one for weeks now just never got around doing it🎃
Also do you have any tips on how we can make it the most fun for all of us? 😁

🕗RIGHT TIME TO POST ON INSTAGRAM 🕗

Highly requested so here we go!

So Instagram does not work in a chronological order any more but posting times still have a big affect in your post’s performance. If you post when your audience is most active on Instagram you will get more likes and comments ➡️engagement.
That engagement will translate into Instagram ranking you higher on other users feeds and potentially getting you to the explore page too, which leads to more visibility and even more engagement🤗

It goes in a circle: more visibility will lead to even more engagement and it all begins with when you post on Instagram ❕
You might have a gorgeous picture and a well written caption but if you post it at the wrong time it is probably going to flop leaving you in distress because you don’t know what happened with your perfect post.

So when is the best time to post❔
Based on statistics the best time to post this during lunchtime so 11am-1pm and evenings 7-9pm.

But you have to consider it’s not your lunchtime and your evening it’s your audiences lunch time and evening! Just imagine that you are on your phone the most probably in the mornings during your lunch break and in the evening when you’re winding down and your followers are not much different☺️

You have to have a business or creator account on Instagram to see your insights and in your insights you can see who your audience is and when they are most active.

Keep this in mind next time you post your best pictures!
I hope this is helpful and saves a lot of trouble for you! 😍

What topic should I cover next?😉

💚EXCITEMENT IS THROUGH THE ROOF💚

Friends! I have officially contacted our first eco-friendly brand! I know you all will love to see their products they are the most beautiful recycled and vegan accessories I’ve ever encountered 😍
Cross your fingers for me that they like our page and community enough to sponsor us!🤞

While we are on the train of thought, did you know that according to research an averagely kept medium-sized dog has the carbon pawprint of an SUV driven for 20,000 kilometers a year?🙈

I did not know this exact number it shocked me too.
This really made me realize that it is time to get our priorities in order and I feel a very strong sense of duty as a tiny influencer and soon to be veterinarian on here to let you guys know HOW you can easily change that number! 🤗

It won’t fit into this caption but I’ll post more sustainability tips in between regular posts so we can get better at this together💚

✨HOW TO USE STORIES PROPERLY ✨

The weekend is coming in with a splash and so am I with the highly requested Instagram tips!
Any fun plans for the weekend?🤗

I am still trying to figure out the perfect combination and method of producing your stories but here are things that I already know for sure:

▪️Stories only last for 24h so you don’t have to commit as much energy to it as you do with your feed posts. Stories function as a connecting tool between your audience and you so you should utilize it as much as possible by showing bts of your account. People love to see everyday things that you might think no one would care about so don’t be afraid to show it! 🙌
▪️Make them as interactive as possible with all those stickers available in the swipe up region
▪️Post 5-15 slides every day. Yes...everyday!
It sounds like a terrible amount of work but I got some rips for you to make it easier 😉
▪️Space out your stories throughout the day so the algorithm gets a fresh notification that you are active on here and puts you higher in the feed ranking.
▪️Your stories should be a mix of “personal” and “promotional” pictures and videos. By promotional I mean that you share other people’s content which makes those 5-15 slides way easier right?😉with this we arrive at the most important story effect.
▪️ posted on her stories that she got most of her followers from other people sharing her account. What does this mean? I was kind of blind to the importance of this but sharing and shouting out your favorite accounts and posts regularly makes a huge difference!
So I’ll be definitely start doing a regular shoutout session on my stories for accounts that inspire me the most and you should too! It gives you effortless story content while helping others and in the long run yourself as well😊
Instagram with the new algorithm kind of works like Karma. If you do other people well and go out of your way to help them you get it ten folds back but the same is true if you are doing nasty things like follow loops and other negative actions.

Share the love people ❤️

🧡PRETENCE IS SO NOT US🧡

Look at Kona’s face how she is sulking 🙈 She only had to participate for one minute but she was not having it, she just wanted to play catch for the rest of the afternoon😅

I am always trying to be completely honest with you on here so I have to let you know that we have a huge epidemiology midterm in an hour and I don’t have time to write a cool caption for you guys🙈

I’ll be back to regular content tomorrow until then see you and I hope you have the best day ever!

Wish us luck please! 🤞

🌱IMPROVISE, ADAPT, OVERCOME🌱

This is a Marine slogan taught to them to establish a mindset that gets you through everything even in the chaos of combat.
It is also a Bear Grylls meme 😁
Nonetheless it is a quote that I live by everyday to make me smile by thinking of all the memes or to seriously get me through some difficulties❤️

Here we went out together with my friend to shoot awesome pictures of Kona in the forest but all of those turned out terrible due to very low light conditions.
BUT
At the end of our walk there was this small field with gross brown twigs in it but we said the above quote and voila these pics turned out great!
(Of course with some editing 😉)

Do you have a quote you think of daily?🤗

✨HOW TO FAVOR THE ALGORITHM ✨

Took my “new” used lens out for a spin!
Can you see the difference between this and my older posts?❤️
(Yesterday’s post was also with this one😉 It is a manual 55 mm 1.4 artisans)

It seems you guys are just as interested in this as I am so you can expect a little bit more content like this 😉

To start with I think we should talk about how each and every person’s own feed works so we can understand how to get onto other’s feeds as well!
Here are the main points to consider:

🔸Very important: Instagram is a business and it wants you and your followers to spend as much time on here as possible by “promoting” valuable content.
🔸The feed is not chronological anymore but interest based. It predicts which posts you will like based on your past activities and it wants to show you posts from your friends, family and accounts you truly care about.
🔸Video and photo are equal. If you see more videos it’s because you are more interested in it.
🔸The algorithm doesn’t get “updated“ since they put it in use this year it is constantly changing based on what we are doing on the platform.
🔸Human like relationships and genuine connection is more valuable than you might think!

➡️Who you see on your feed: who you know in real life, are friends with on Facebook, people you DM, who’s content you interact with regularly.

What are our conclusions?
If you love an account and like their content do all that you can to interact with their stuff. Save, comment, share, like, DM them because( and this is the most important part):
❗️BOTH OF YOU BENEFIT FROM IT GREATLY ❗️
+ the feed you look at daily will look way more awesome by being filled with content that you truly like🤗

Example: doesn’t post everyday now I still see all of her posts on my feed because we engage with each other’s content a lot.

This is an incredibly thick topic and doesn’t fit into just one caption. Would you prefer an IGTV about it to discuss it in more depth or should I divide it into a few post captions?🙂

🌿TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK🌿

Having a dog is the best decision I’ve ever made but I would not do it without you!
Do you have a favorite person to walk your dogs with?❤️

Taking pictures of Kona is a two man job. Her ‘dad’ watches her and gives her commands, treats and all. I do the creative direction and handle the camera.

One time when we were taking pictures of Kona at the beach an old couple started arguing with us because they saw that we did not let Kona go for a couple of minutes to play with their dogs in the water because we were taking pictures of her.

They got so mad about it that they verbally attacked us for being this young generation who always take pictures of everything and we can’t stop photographing a documenting everything and putting on the Internet and we are very heartless for subjecting Kona to our nasty habit🙈
They left quickly afterwards and we couldn’t wrap oour head around the situation for a couple of minutes.
We were stunned by the fact that they only saw 10 minutes of us working with her and they made the assumption that she’s not this spoiled little dog that she actually is and they didn’t see that we were at the beach afterwards for two hours so she could play in the water as long as she wanted to🌊
Later we figured that maybe it was too much for them that we separated “work time” from “fun time” and work time means real commands and tasks for these beasts!

Maybe Kona can see the line between work time and fun time better than that old couple 🙈

How many of you had incidents where people misjudged the situation and were mean to you about it? 🤔

We were thinking about this situation for days and we learned that taking pictures of your dog might require more privacy 😅

✨TIPS FOR BOOSTING YOUR INSTAGRAM PART2✨

Posted a new IGTV showing you what I talked about in my last post: how you can make your images match each other and make your feed more cohesive with the help of presets in just a few clicks in the free Lightroom app.

For more insta tips keep on reading 😉

In the last post we mentioned one aspect about the correct use of hashtags but I want to elaborate on that a little bit more because it is very important.

🔸So as I mentioned even though you can, do not use all 30 hashtags, I’ve tried it with a couple of friends and everyone had an increased reach in a few days just by switching over to 15 hashtags instead of 30. If you only want to try one new thing please try this.
🔸Research more new hashtags. Up until now if you had three blocks of 30 hashtags on a note in your phone and you copy-pasted them on alternating days that’s fine but it is not going to work anymore. The algorithm values genuine human like content so anything repetitive is going to cause your reach harm. You have to change them up more so go ahead and search more new tags and don’t be afraid to use non dog related tags if they are appropriate. Just imagine how happy you would be to find a cute puppy taking a bath if you looked at ( #)bathtime for example.
🔸Put your tags in your caption sometimes not in the comments. For some reason some posts can get lower reaches just because the algorithm sees it as a spam comment. I’ve tried this a few weeks ago and it didn’t necessarily showed a huge changed but it certainly did not do any harm😉
Peep how I do it below👇

Please share this with your friends who need to see this so they can get out of the low reach hassle as well!
Let’s help each other we are in this together ❤️
