...WHOM THE CAP FITS...
THE ADJECTIVAL CLAUSE FOR OWAN 2022
It's already everywhere in the nooks and crannies of Edo State that a democratic process to decide who to man the eighteen Local government areas of the state respectively is already cooking for the first quarters of the year 2022.
Come what may, rumoured or not,it is long over due Edo State local government areas are runed by democratically elected persons who are held more accountable to the areas' people than the Heads of Services managing the councils since they were dissolved in around the second quarters of last year 2021.
It is good to call to mind, the recent activities of governance in the past immidiate Local Government bosses across the eighteen Local government areas of the state.
To this end,Owan East Local Government Area is a case for study.
The election, first of all, being parallel polls held exactly March 3rd ,2018 brought the past immidiate administration to into play,5th March, same year. Bedeviled by so many factors of
one, the election was parallel (not contested by two parties but one alone)
Two,the candidates were handpicked and as such had no idea of politicking in the whole game
And three, series of party crises, the administration, due to the aforementioned factors saw arrogance in the face, giving local government administration a faceless adjective between the period under review as Owan East Local Government Area had suffered set back in areas of development facilitated by the Local government,as there was hardly any.
Again, the Local government saw tyranny right in the face such that critiques were almost beheaded on the spot while the Fela Anikulapo Kuti's words " Suffering and Smiling found their feet. Too bad!
This time, wisdom, it is, that a foolish boy falls prey a second time to a previously injurious attempt. So, a man of experience is needed to boss the Local Government Area in the next dispensation. NOT a Shenanigan!
The good people of Owan East especially leaders, must frown at allowing shenanigans into positions as they have so little or nothing to offer.
Owan East must be great again.
