Today we look at how orbits work!
Imagine space-time as a fabric, like a trampoline stretched out. When you place a heavy ball (representing a massive object like a planet) in the center of the trampoline, it creates a dip or curve in the fabric. Now, if you roll a smaller ball (representing an object in orbit) near the heavy ball, it will naturally start moving in a curved path around the heavy ball.
This curved motion is due to the deformation of space-time caused by the mass of the central object. In space, this phenomenon translates into objects like planets orbiting stars or moons orbiting planets. Essentially, it's the warping of space-time by massive objects that guides the paths of other objects moving around them.
