HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! It's the best day of the year, and we're here to make your day extra spooky. Take a listen to our 2022 Halloween Special or our October scary story "The Poisoned Dress" and have a haunting day!

2022 Halloween Special: This stand alone episode takes place in the cozy hut of the Baba Yaga sisters as they celebrate All Hallow's Eve in the 1500's. They participate in the usual traditions of the time: a feast and fortune telling. Although the sisters don't have the ability to see into the future, something comes through on this evening. A warning... the possibility of dark future... and a mysterious visitor.

The Poisoned Dress: Thrift store veterans Lara and Yaya are confident they're going to find the perfect dresses for their upcoming school dance buried in the racks, just waiting to be discovered. Their search takes them to a store they haven't visited before; one that seems to be a diamond in the ruff as they move past the disheveled exterior and find the clothing stash of their dreams. Everything is perfect until... well... maybe you should just listen and see...

Even though we're in between seasons, our Sticker of the Month club is still going strong! Our July sticker celebrated our most popular line from Season One: Naomi's reaction to "The Keyhole" story. We still cringe at the idea of bumping eyeballs with ANYTHING, but especially a ghost...

The sticker for August features what we assume will be Baz's future business: pocket sandwiches! Why put a sandwich in a lunch bag when you have pockets? Convenient and toasty, pocket sandwiches are great for mid day snack attacks or for appeasing large, scary, magical dogs!

Season Two has wrapped, and we know we left you on a cliffhanger. We hope you're as excited as we are for Season Three, but in the meantime we will return to releasing mini episodes. The return of minis means scary stories, fan mail readings from Grimalkin, and also the dramatization of YOUR original scary stories so be sure to send them in to [email protected]!

We will be reducing our mini episodes from weekly to monthly in between seasons so that our production team can spread their creative energy more evenly. THE SEASON TWO FINALE IS OUT!

Episode 8: "You Shouldn't Be Here"

The Season Two finale finds our crew running from humans, discussing what happened to Eabha and Ciara and planning what their next steps should be. After all, they are still on a journey to get Rosa's energy back, to find Barnaby's friends, and ultimately to save the world. Good thing they're all on the same page and working together. After being kidnapped and escaping, after sharing so much history, the kids can definitely trust the witch's crew now. Right?

Episode 7: May You Find Peace is out! Get ready because today... well... you'll just have to listen to find out.

Rosa has a plan. One that will release Eabha from her curse and allow our crew to escape. It seems like it just might work until someone arrives. Someone even angrier, even more set on revenge than Eabha. Ciara wants to settle her score with the Baba Yagas and she's ready to destroy anyone who gets in her way... even if they are only children.

It would seem dark forces are once again at work... what is it about this story? Are we getting too close to the truth? Or are there Stranger Things type scientists conducting an experiment on our audio editor to see how many times a program can crash and edits can be lost before they lose their minds?

Whatever the outside forces, technical difficulties prevented us from getting the episode to our Patreon members early as promised. We're posting it for them now and will have it available to the public tonight at midnight.

We know you've been waiting, but we think you'll agree that this one is worth waiting for. One thing is for sure: whenever you listen, bring tissues.

Y'all...we've gotta be honest... we have about had it with this COVID business!

COVID entered the world of our production team once again this past week, and while the impacted members are recovering well and keeping the case contained, the contraction has greatly impacted this week's episode. There are only TWO episodes left in Season Two and Episode 7 is what we in the industry call "a doozy" and we weren't able to get it quite where we wanted it. We're going to give ourselves an extra week so our production members can continue to work on it and recover so that it can be the very best it can be!

In the meantime, we'd love for you to make sure you're caught up on Episodes 1-6, as you'll want to catch Episode 7 as soon as it comes out next week!

Thank you as always for your patience as we continue to find our way in this semi-post pandemic but also still mostly-pandemic world. It's been an interesting time to launch this project, and we're so grateful that you're on this journey with us!

After a shocking ending to the first season, we return to discover that Rosa (aka Baba Yaga) is still unconscious, and Grimalkin and Barnaby have struck out on their own to recruit help. Ari, Naomi, Olivia and Baz have joined them on this journey, but after hearing a disturbing story about Baba Yaga, they begin to second guess that decision...

Also featuring the classic Baba Yaga Fairytale, "Vasalisa the Beautiful."

Nomar the cat evidently took his role as The Beast of Bladenboro in Season One very seriously and tried to get in on our first Season Two rehearsal. There are admittedly some drawbacks to Zoom rehearsals-especially when three different people are logged in from the same household creating a cat yowl echo vortex.

Younger cast speaks out!

The younger cast members speak out about what it was like to work with their adult cast and crew mates and their answers may surprise you… or not surprise you at all if you’ve ever worked with Becky and Michael 😂

We've been so excited to share the story of The French Broad River with you because of the very special collaboration director Lara Ianni set up. The talented members of Bug St. created ORIGINAL MUSIC for this story! Somehow Lara took the only stage directions of "haunted singing" and turned it into the incredible audio you'll hear for this story in Episode Eight. Here's a sneak peek to whet your... erm... EARbuds...

A sweet little clip of the core cast’s interview with @fcpubliclibrary yesterday! Did you know that Naomi and Olivia are voiced by creator Becky’s daughters? The shift from spooky to confused is funny enough, but it’s even better if you know some inside info. Becky McLaughlin, the writer of this podcast, struggles to come up with names for characters and seems to often choose the name Jenny. Actress Caitlin has already portrayed a Jenny in one of Becky’s plays, and when editing the scary stories for the podcast they found them littered with Jenny’s. It’s usually a safe bet to guess “Jenny” when trying to remember a name on one of Becky’s projects…
