Hi Family and Friends, I'm reaching out to get back in touch and share what all's been happening on my end, as it's been a very busy last several months. I'm going to share the details in a few posts.

To start with, today, I have a new ambient release that has gone live on the Going In label, which was premiered at the 2021 Going In Streaming Festival. The piece is called *Music for Meditating, Love-Making, and Astral-Projecting*:

https://goingin.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-meditating-love-making-and-astral-projecting-part-1-going-in-018

Here are the liner-notes below, so you can read more about this release; I would love it if you could have a listen and support the release if you can, hopefully the music will bring some transformational positivity to your day, thank you so much, 🙏🏽❤️:

“This piece offers an opening,” Christina Wheeler says of her debut release for Going In, Music for Meditating, Love-Making and Astral-Projecting, Part 1: The Invitation. As its weighty name suggests, this hour-long composition—the first in a three-part series—invites the listener to dissolve their perceived boundaries of separation, to engage by way of meditation, intimacy, or transcendent bodily experience in the act of transpersonal communion. The listening experience offers as a sonic gift, the space to delve inward, to move beyond the illusions of the ego into ever more fulfilling realms of connection and oneness.

Recorded in the winter of 2021, amidst ongoing lockdowns, Christina birthed the entire hour and forty second piece during a single, uninterrupted live session in her home studio, combining deliberate, elongated vocal articulations with an array of electro-acoustic and electronic instruments. As she describes it, the piece is all about “experiencing the unique imprint of the real-time human gesture” in relation to the sonic spaces she inhabits, from the acoustic to the analog to the digital. Like other releases in the Going In catalog, The Invitation was created specifically for the label’s 2021 streaming festival.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!

Hi Family, Friends, and Music Lovers,

TODAY, Friday, March 25, my new album Songs of S + D, releases fully on my label Bamboula Audio on Bandcamp and all digital streaming platforms!

Songs of S + D is a deeply personal album long time in the making. Inspired by my experience of having lived through 9/11 in New York City and the subsequent attempt to negotiate the aftermath of that time, I began to write a series of songs addressing the larger human experience of life, loss, joy, ecstasy, sadness, and the connecting, universal condition, framed through the context of vivid, intimate, vignettes.

“Asleep at the Wheel,” “Into the Sun,” and the “Where Did You Go?” are the three singles released from the album. I will feature the other songs as featured tracks over the next coming weeks.
Vinyl and CDs are in production! I will announce when they are ready for pre-order

The purchase and streaming link for Songs of S + D can be found on Bandcamp here:

Dear Family, Friends, and Music Lovers: “Where Did You Go?”, the third single from my upcoming album, Songs of S + D, is live today, streaming on all platforms.

https://ffm.to/christinawheeler_wheredidyougo.ofp

“Where Did You Go?” starts with an a ca****la intro, then moves into a mid-tempo soul song that grapples with the confusion and grief over where to find those whom we’ve loved and lost once we cannot experience their immediate, physical presence. This song is dedicated to bassist Fred Hopkins, writer Joe Wood, Jr., and writer/multimedia artist Greg Tate.

Songs of S + D is a deeply personal album long time in the making. Inspired by my experience of having lived through 9/11 in New York City and the subsequent attempt to negotiate the aftermath of that time, I began to write a series of songs addressing the larger human experience of life, loss, joy, ecstasy, sadness, and the connecting, universal condition, framed through the context of vivid, intimate, vignettes.

https://christinawheeler.bandcamp.com/album/songs-of-s-d

Our human relationship to the finiteness of our lives and how we navigate these transitions permeates our entire existence, and is all the more pronounced during times of tragic loss from horrific pandemic and needless, catastrophic war. From the O’Jays to Albert Ayler, “Music is the healing force of the world/the universe,” and I hope that “Where Did You Go?" can offer space and solace for listeners to be touched deeply.

Thank you for all your continued support; I’m so grateful.

Special thanks to Initiative Musik, Musicboard Berlin, and Red Bull Studios Berlin for their support.

Additional thanks to Big Hassle Media and DPG Worldwide for their continued support.
