“We both live in Henderson. My significant other (Brian Pickens and I (Mindy Daneau) like to decorate for all holidays. But Halloween and Christmas are by far our favorites. We tend to go a little overboard for Christmas because we buy all of our Christmas decorations on clearance afterwards for the next year. We just want people to know that you can have beautiful holiday decor without breaking the bank. Most of our Christmas decor is clearance items, Dollar Store finds, and consignment store finds. We like to save where we can - for instance, the buffalo plaid curtains on the door were made from cutting our table cloth down and using the extra material. Christmas brings back fond memories from both of our childhoods so that is why it is our absolute favorite holiday.”

Go see these bosses at Metzger's Tavern KY 💪🏽

I gotta take a minute a share a little something with ya. Metzger’s Tavern has always been so dang special to me. Grew up coming down to the tavern with my pops and his work fellas as a kid and always just had a special place in my heart for the thing. Back then, it wasn’t unusually for me to be the only girl sitting in the tavern. When the place went up for sale 3 years ago, it had such a nostalgic place in my heart, I knew I had to snag it up. Now being a female and buying the “boy club” was something I was actually really proud of. The fact that women just never came in the tavern was a pretty well known thing. It happens still nearly every week, that we will get a woman that pulls up, usually in her 60’s or older, that will ask….”Are women allowed to come in the tavern now?” As shocking as that is in 2021 it definitely happens. I walked in the tavern today full of people. I sat down, grabbed a coffee and looked around. For sure got in my feelings and said out loud….”is there really all girls working today?” The place was filled with friendly chatter, the smell of delicious sizzling burgers and a crew of badass ladies running the thing like a well oiled machine. Who runs the world? GIRLS! I’m damn proud of these ladies. If you haven’t been to the tavern lately, get down here and see these hard working WOMEN.
