𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁

So this is the first discussion the group has to offer. Feel free to do some discussions yourself, we highly encourage it.

Okay, now let's talk about Devil Fruit.
Devil fruit are mysterious fruits that is scattered around the One Piece world. If it's consumed, it will grant the consumer a variety of special powers. Ranging from mundane utilities to powerful attacks. The only downside of this special power is that the user will be cursed and won't be able to swim for the rest of his/her life.

There are 3 different types of Devil Fruit, Paramecia, Logia, and Zoan type.

Paramecia - These fruits give the users a "super-human" power which can affect their body, manipulate the environment or produce some kind of substances.
Most notable characters that is a Paramecia user is Nico Robin, Monkey D. Luffy, and Charlotte Katakuri

Logia - Characterized by giving its user the ability to turn into a natural element or force of nature. Logia Devil Fruits are considered the most powerful as well as the rarest of the types of Devil Fruit as a whole.
Most notable characters that is a Logia user is Smoker, Akainu, and Crocodile.

Zoan - This type of fruit allows the user to transform into another species and inter-species hybrid forms at will.
Most notable characters that is a Zoan user is Tony Chopper, XDrake, and Marco

There's a different type of Zoan. The Mythical Zoan. But I won't go into much detail, I don't wanna spoil anything.

For the eater of DF, once they ate a DF, they would instantly get to know the name of the DF they ate & also some basic knowledge of the type of power they would have. While some devil fruit look useless, a lot of the times it depend on the user itself. Strong user can make the devil fruit ability much stronger. While creative user could come up with creative way to utilize their DF power.

(Keep in mind that Human, animals, and even object can become a devil fruit user.)

Luffy is both Strong & Creative DF user.
His Gomu Gomu (rubber) Fruit sound like a joke but he made it to be as powerful as it could possibly get.

When a Devil Fruit user dies, their ability is reborn into another similar fruit. Instead of growing from a plant, the ability simply regenerates inside another similar fruit.

However no one really know how much devil fruit exist in the world of One Piece. Some even speculate that the number of DF are increasing as more DF are discovered.

So that's about the basic knowledge of the Devil Fruit. There's more on it but according to Oda, a "certain professor" will explain the complex mechanisms behind all of the Devil Fruits in the series at some point in the future.
