Finished this fun puzzle yesterday 🙂 Lots of fun movie posters to complete. I enjoyed all the text and bright colours which made this pretty quick to solve 😁

Three “quick little puzzles” I thought to myself when I opened the box 😅

The first two vintage hand cut Victory puzzles were quick, and I really enjoyed the first one in particular 😁

That peacock is something else though! 🤣 Would probably have been better in daylight, when less tired, but I was determined to finish it last night before bed 😅

“Lovely Violets” by Victory (300 pieces) 🧩

This puzzle has been driving me crazy for weeks! Not because it has taken that long to solve, but because painting the replacement piece was almost impossible! 🤣😅

I’m finally happy with it so I can show you all and get it posted back to its owner! 😁 Hopefully you can’t spot it 😉🤞

The puzzle itself is wonderful! A vintage super cut with clever line cutting and no photo to make it extra tricky 😁 I really enjoyed the jigsaw 😊

“Dressed up for Christmas” by Gibsons Jigsaws (500 XL pieces) 🧩

Getting into the Christmas spirit a little early with this lovely jigsaw from Gibsons ❄️

The XL pieces were really nice to handle, particularly after all the little wooden puzzles I’ve been doing recently! 😅

The artwork by Simon Treadwell has really lovely colours and definitely captures the festive atmosphere 🎄

This puzzle was neither too easy or too hard, it was just right for a very pleasant puzzling evening 😁

A lovely wintery puzzle which was really fun to solve 😁❄️

“The Tree of Life” by (511 pieces) 🧩

This puzzle! I mean, seriously guys! This puzzle was just perfect! 🤩😍

The artwork is bright and colourful and it was fun to make the flowers and birds, and the tree 😁

But then the cutting! 😍 Oh it’s just another level! Inside the bicycle there’s a wonderful multi-piece bicycle whimsy 🚲 Same for the birds and butterfly 🦋

There’s a lovely guitar and large skull design in the cutting, and a little bunny hiding in the rabbit 🐰

The pieces are thick and fit together really nicely. The connectors are fun and, oh, throughout the tree the pieces became all long and spindly like branches! 😁

This is top tier puzzle design and I loved every moment of it! 🥰

Unfortunately it was a friends puzzle and now I have to give it back 😔 But I’m definitely adding Hidden Piece Puzzles to my “must buy” list next time I’m in America! 😁

“Museum Shelf” by .city (1000 pieces) 🧩

This was rather harder than I expected! The pieces are pretty small meaning that this 1000 piece puzzle is more similar in size to a 500 piece one, which made the very detailed picture hard to put together.

There are lots of whimsies in mostly recognisable shapes which were fun, and helped a lot with putting it together as they gave some unique shapes to find.

“Springtime in Oxford” (270 pieces) 🧩

A vintage hand cut puzzle which came with no box, but with a piece of paper with title and piece count!

A lovely eBay find and amazingly it’s complete 😁 There was some fun line cutting and some interesting shapes in there too! 😍

Interlocking edge with a mixture inside, mostly push fit. It was good fun 😄

“Cornish Harbour Newlyn” by Victory (400 pieces) 🧩

I had totally forgotten I bought this puzzle! 😅 Saw it on my shelf and couldn’t remember what the picture was. Which made it a really fun experience! 😁 I do enjoy a good mystery puzzle and this vintage hand cut jigsaw was a delight 😍

There are some beautiful whimsies to enjoy and a lot of nice line cutting which made it trickier than you’d expect for 400 pieces 🤩

Of course, I now realise that I bought this one to repair as it has a missing piece! So it’s time to get a new piece made and painted to make it whole again 😁

A lovely puzzle I borrowed from my parents 😊 Lots of interesting whimsies hiding in this one and some sneaky cutting too! 🤩

Large Map of the World by Victory (600 pieces) 🧩

A wonderful vintage puzzle with large pieces! I was surprised to discover my geography was better than I expected 😅

I’m lucky I have a large board as this jigsaw is quite over sized! 😁

“Night Concert” by (393 pieces) 🧩

This is one of Artifact’s Ecru puzzles and it is beautiful! 😍 I love the dancers across the top of the puzzle and the musical whimsies in the sky 🥰

The cut looks like a traditional grid cut at first glance, but it’s not! It’s all slightly “wrong” which makes it tricky and there’s lots of sneaky straight edges inside too! 😅

Combining all those fun elements of the cut design with a lovely image just made this a joy to do! 🤩 Hard, yes, but wonderful! 😁

Borrowed from a friend who thought it was a nightmare and wanted to share the suffering 🤣

“Harvest Pumpkins” by Dreamton (400 pieces) 🧩

This is a lovely puzzle! 😁 Gorgeous autumnal colours, wonderful whimsies, and a tricky irregular edge 😍

I was almost caught out a few times by some very similar shaped pieces which tried to fit in the wrong place 😅

It was a very enjoyable 2h 45m of puzzling 🥰

“The Grand Foyer - Hotel Ritz” by Harrods (352 pieces) 🧩

A random second hand purchase because I liked the colours. The cutting style and pin holes from stacked cuts makes me think this is an Optimago puzzle made for Harrods.

Inside the box there’s a copy of the image with descriptions and prices for all the women’s gowns!

A fun, quick puzzle, but a lot of splinters suggesting this has probably not been handled much!

“Cat Montage” by Cancer Research (1000 pieces) 🧩

This puzzle has a really cute picture! I loved all the kitty cats, potted plants, and random items! 😻

The pieces fit well, although the shapes were a little too similar and I had a few false fit problems along those tricky edges! 😅

I’ll be keeping an eye out for new designs in our local shop as they seem to have a nice range 😊

“World of butterflies” by (500 pieces) 🧩

This was a tough puzzle! 😅 Certainly not the nice little break I was expecting when I chose a smaller piece count cardboard puzzle 🤣

I left most of the border until last since the pieces were very similar and tried to work the butterflies in colour groups.

It was fun, just harder than I expected! 😁

Finlayson Arm by .puzzlelab (300 pieces) 🧩

I really loved this puzzle! 😁 The weird leggy pieces were a really fun challenge to put together 😄 The colours in the artwork are beautiful too 😊

I solved this live on TikTok which resulted in people naming some of the pieces so they could help - “fidget spinner” “little dinosaur” and “giant person” were my favourites 🤣

I was very lucky to be able to borrow this jigsaw from a friend and hope I get to solve more Puzzle Lab jigsaws in the future 😁

“Prosperous Bull” by (105 pieces) 🧩

The first from my new pile of Unidragon puzzles turned out to be the little Bull 😁 During my live stream on TikTok last night I was urged to complete another puzzle before bedtime and this one looked like it would be fairly quick and easy 😊

Turned out to be a little trickier than I expected not helped by some sneaky false fits confusing me! 😅

It was good fun though and very colourful! 😄 A few nice whimsies in there and some fun arrow shaped connectors 🙂

This amazing vintage hand cut puzzle now has a full set of pieces again 😁
I had to go hunting the internet to find the original artwork to copy the lady’s hat 😅

“Fishermen’s Cottages” by Victory (300 pieces) 🧩

This is a vintage hand cut puzzle from the gold box series, which means no picture and more intricate cutting with some whimsy shapes 😁

I’m not sure I could tell you what all the whimsies are meant to be… but the pieces are wonderful shapes 😊

A really lovely puzzle to solve and in great condition too! 😍

My puzzle boards are now covered in all the jigsaws from my shelf which I had marked for replacement pieces! 🧩

Another gorgeous vintage wooden puzzle sent to me for repair 😊

This one was tough! 😅 So difficult that the owner kindly split it up into 12 little sections so that I could enjoy solving it in a timely manner! 🤣

The pieces are very small and only the border interlocks, the rest is push fit 🤩

The image is very, hmm, splotchy? And the little pieces have a lot of line cutting around the colours so it was really difficult! I was very glad I only had to tackle a few pieces at a time 😁

The next time you see this puzzle it will hopefully have 3 new pieces and look complete 😍

I have a table full of puzzles to repair this weekend! 😃

11 missing pieces to replace in total (although 2 of them are very little) 😅

Making vintage puzzles while again is very satisfying. Hopefully my painting “skills” will be up to the task for making them match too 😁
