Bharat Vikas Group (BVG) started in 1997, is a successful integrated services company offering services like facilities management, housekeeping, gardening, and works with prestigious institutes and companies all across India.
Hanmant Gaikwad, Chairman & Managing Director, BVG India Limited was born in rural India (Satara) with a humble social background. He did several odd jobs like selling mangoes, taking up painting contracts, taking tuitions on the side with his friend. He also worked as an agent for a company that made jams and sauces. Like this, he was able to self-finance his B-Tech degree in Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.
While in college he formed Bharat Vikas Pratishthan, a non-profit, where he used to collect funds for underprivileged students. In 1997, while working with Tata Motors, he decided to provide a job opportunity platform for the youth from his village. With due support from his employers, Bharat Vikas Group was born.
Bharat Vikas trust got its first job with Tata Motors, where eight people got employment, for Rs 12,000 a month. Soon Tata Motors gave him contracts for housekeeping, gardening, and in the electrical and mechanical departments.
In the first year, 1997, he formed his company BVG India Limited and earned Rs 8 lakh in the first year and in second year it jumped to Rs 56 lakh. Then in 1999, Hanmant decided to quit his job in TELCO.
In 2003, BVG's turnover was touching Rs 4 crore. They got big contracts, such as mechanised cleaning of the Parliament, the Prime Minister's residence and then the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
