Claim: On 5 Oct 2021, Indian army captured more than 150 chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh and released them after higher-level talks

Verdict: Fake

According to reports, few Chinese soldiers of a patrolling team were detained for short period by the Indian Army after both the sides were engaged in a minor face-off near Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh. In this context an image is being shared claiming that Indian army captured 150 Chinese soldiers (People's Liberation Army) and released them after the higher-level talks between both the parties. From factcheck sites and by image search we have found that the image being shared is actually from the film "Kalwan Valley" whose behind the scenes was uploaded in YouTube on Dec 3, 2020 and has got around 780k views.

A trimmed video (8 seconds) has gone viral that shows PM modi interacting with woman beneficiary regarding PM Swanidhi yojana to which the woman (Babita from Lalitpur) denies to have received any benefits. But the actual video which is 4:40 mins long shows that the woman admits to have received benefits from many other schemes like PM Awas yojana and Jan Dhan yojana.

These 40,000 years old Nematodes are the oldest living beings on the planet. Do you believe?

Russian sceintists defrosted and revived two Nematodes (round worms) that had been preserved in Arctic permafrost (a thick subsurface layer of soil that remains below freezing point throughout the year, occurring chiefly in polar regions) for around 40,000 years. The worms were initially stored in a lab at -4 deg Fahenheit and were later defrosted slowly over weeks to 68 deg Fahrenheit. They observed that out of 300 samples 2 Nematodes began to move and eat again. By tracing back to their origins it is identified that one of them was 32,000 years old and other was 41,700 years old. One of them is believed to be female and another one turned out to be a triploid (reproduces by parthenogenesis - monosexual reproduction). Though they are considered as the oldest living beings on the planet, few scientists are skeptical about this claim and believe that these worms are not actually that ancient and were introduced into the samples by lab contamination accidentally.

Claim: Only Hindu Temples Are Bound To Pay Taxes

Verdict: Fake

A message claiming that only Hindu temples are bound to pay taxes whereas other religious institutes are exempted from it is being widely circulated on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag " ". The same message was viral in 2017 and Press Information Bureau (PIB) issued a press release to debunk this claim. In 2017, the Ministry of Finance also issued a clarification on Twitter. "There are some messages going around in social media stating that temple trusts have to pay the GST while the churches & mosques are exempt. This is completely untrue because no distinction is made in the GST Law on any provision based on religion. We request to people at large not to start circulating such wrong messages on social media."

The screenshot being shared has been altered and Jansatta did not publish any such information on Shahrukh Khan. On Wednesday, 29 September, Jansatta took to Twitter to state that the screenshot being shared on social media is "completely fake."

Claim: A photographer was lying down at the Central Vista site to capture the low-angle shot of Narendra Modi

A morphed image of a photographer lying down in front of Narendra Modi for a shot was shared with many different claims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the under-construction Central Vista project in New Delhi on 26 Sep. Many social media users including some notable congress leaders has shared this photoshopped image on Twitter. Factcheck sites has confirmed that the image is morphed by combining the actual images of Narendra Modi and a photographer taken from Pixbay site.

Syndrome K, the fake disease that saved jews from N***s

Fatebenefratelli Hospital, is a hospital located on the western side of the Tiber Island in Rome. Under the direction of Professor Giovanni Borromeo, this hospital became a safe haven for Jews. On October 16, 1943, N**i soldiers began a raid in search of Jews. Knowing this the hospital opened its doors for all the Jews seeking shelter. Knowing about the raid, Borromeo along with Dr. Vittorio Sacerdoti and a physician Adriano Ossicini came up with a plan of admitting the refugees as new patients and declared they were suffering from a highly contagious and deadly disease known as ‘Il Morbo di K’, aka Syndrome K or ‘K’ Syndrome.

This disease was entirely fictitious. When the N**i’s came to search the hospital, they were warned about the highly contagious neurological illness, known as Syndrome K, whose symptoms included convulsions and paralysis and could lead to disfiguration and ultimately death. The plan worked and the soldiers dared not enter the building. Dr Sacerdoti told the BBC in 2004, ‘The N**i’s thought it was cancer or tuberculosis, and they fled like rabbits.

The doctors would then move the Jewish hideaways to various safe houses around the city. With the approval of Borromeo and of Father Maurizio, the prior of the Fatebenefratelli, Sacerdoti also had patients brought from the Jewish hospital in the ghetto to be better cared for at Fatebenefratelli, a courageous act that no doubt saved countless more lives.

The viral video claiming atrocities on christian minorities in Taliban controlled Afganisthan is actually from protest in Columbia recorded in May 2021. The protest entitled "Empaquetados" was conducted at Poblado Park of Colombia's Medellin city on 26 May 2021. The protest resulted from the government's proposal to tax hike and was in support of those who have allegedly been killed by the government. Scientists at US University have created the world’s ‘whitest paint’, its white properties could fight against global warming. The paint have been developed by Xiulin Ruan, a professor of mechanical engineering and his team at Purdue University. The paint has earned a Guinness World Records book for being so white. This white colour reflects 98.1% of solar light and also emits infrared heat, which can cool the air around buildings. It absorbs less heat than the heat emitted from the sun. This can reduce the use of air conditioners. Commercial white generally reflects only 80 to 90 per cent of sunlight. "Typical commercial white paint gets warmer rather than cooler. Paints on the market that are designed to reject heat reflect only 80-90 per cent of sunlight and can't make surfaces cooler than their surroundings," Purdue University said in a statement.

FAKE: Pakistani Olympian Arshad Nadeem tried to tamper Neeraj's Javelin

In a viral video from javelin final event at the Tokyo Games, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra was seen searching his spear before his first throw and found Pakistani Olympian Arshad Nadeem holding it. This incident had various speculations and resulted in some controversial conclusions. Clarifying this, "It's is a very simple thing, we keep our personal javelin (inside a holding rack) but it can be used by anybody. It is the rule and there is nothing wrong in that. He (Nadeem) was having the javelin and preparing for his throw. I asked him to give it to me for my throw," Neeraj said in his tweet.

According to a report filed by Arysports. tv, Arshad has addressed the controversy surrounding Neeraj's remarks. The Pakistani Olympian has reportedly claimed that javelins were provided by the Olympic committee. “Actually, javelins were provided by the Olympic committee. I was practicing with a javelin and Neeraj came to me and said it was his javelin so I gave him,” the Pakistani javelin thrower was quoted as saying.

“I am not sure whether that javelin was provided to the management by India or not. Maybe it was his favourite and he wanted to throw with it. That’s why he came to me and ask for that javelin,” he added. Both Neeraj and Arshad had competed in the men's javelin final at the Tokyo Games. While Arshad narrowly missed out on a podium finish, Neeraj entered his name in the history books by clinching India's first gold medal at the Tokyo Games 2020.
