About Circumspectrum Media's founder:
Monica “Mo” Burge was born and raised in Rome, GA. Following graduation from Model High School, she began her college career at Clark Atlanta University as a mass communication major. Two years later she transferred to Georgia State University and earned a degree in Journalism with a concentration in public relations and a minor in English in 2005. She began her journalism career as an intern at the Rome News Tribune in 1997 and has worked in print media in Northwest Georgia, metro Atlanta and the Greater Macon area for more than 17 years. In addition to a career as a staff writer at a number of publications across the state of Georgia, Mo has a decade of multimedia experience in the areas of digital, video, audio and radio broadcast, editing and pagination. She is the former co-host and producer for The Couch Potato Sports Report which broadcast on WYXC in Cartersville, GA. and is the founder and CEO of Circumspectrum Media, an integrated multimedia company with digital and print media forums with goals of future expansion into radio, television and publishing. In her years as a journalist, Mo has written extensively on the human condition and continues her studies on human behavior and motivation as a graduate student at Jacksonville State University. She has a passion for news and information as well as the connectivity and well-being of her community. She has made a commitment to the betterment of her hometown and in addition to her duties as CEO of Circumspectrum Media is the director of research and program development for A Liberated Mind Alliance (ALMA) Inc., a nonprofit she co-founded with her mother Teresa Burge. Collectively Mo works to identify the important issues affecting the Northwest Georgia area and connecting those who have been marginalized by society to the resources available in the community. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists, The Atlanta Press Club, and the American Counseling Association.
