DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UK, GREAT BRITAIN, BRITAIN, ENGLAND?

A lot of people often confuse England, United Kingdom, Britain and Great Britain. Well, here's the way to differentiate them:

*England* is a country just as Kenya, and its capital is *London* just like Nairobi is the capital of Kenya.

*Great Britain* is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as *London.* Those 3 countries are:

1. *England,*
2. *Scotland* and
3. *Wales.*

When you include *Northern Ireland* to these 3 countries, they become *United Kingdom* (union of four nations) Viz:
1. England,
2. Scotland,
3. Wales, and
4. Northern Ireland.

That is why it is referred to as the *United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.*
Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, *London* is its capital.

Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals.

Accordingly, the capital of
Scotland is *Edinburgh*,
Wales is *Cardiff*; Northern Ireland is *Belfast*;
England is *London*.

Ps: Northern Ireland is not to be mistaken for the *Republic of Ireland*. The latter is a separate country. Its capital is *Dublin*.

A Brief History of Brava, Somalia

Chinese sailors and historian wrote a brief history about costal cities of Somalia such as Mogadishu, Adale, Merca, Kismayo and Brava. It has been confirmed that around the beginning of 1400, a fleet of vessels used to visit and dock the southern cost of Somalia, particularly the harbor town of Brava.

According to the Chinese travelers, the city of Brava was surrounded by a wall and the houses where build with stone breaks. Farming and Fishing was the main resources for the people. The Chinese traders use to bring a lot of goods such as Silk clothing, kitchen utensils rice and various textiles. They in return take back valuable materials Tiger, Lion and other wild life animal coats, elephant tusks, fracases and myrrh, etc.

In the year of 1506 it was reported that a group of Portages Army sailors came offshore trying to seize control of the town. Some reports also indicates that close to a thousand 1000 men participated the Brava attack. The people of Brava and its surrounding villages protected themselves and the community from the Portages aggressors. Other reports says that the fight lasted for only three days, and despite the horrendous act of the Portages army they were still defeated by the people of Brava. Even thought they the Portages armies were using the most sophisticated weapons at the time.

It is worth to note that the brave man and women of Brava use their traditional weapon such as knifes, arrows, bows and slingshots to fight the aggressors. Historians say Bravanes lost close to 1500 men in the fight, their women were r***d and lots of their valuables were looted by the Portages Army Sailors.

Some people believe that the Bravanes, especially those with light skin or have the Middle Eastern look are Portages decants. This is just a plain rumor. None of the members of Portugal Army sailors stayed beyond those three rough days. If they where, than most likely they got killed immediately after the war ended.

Bamako is the capital and largest city of Mali, with a 2009 population of 1,810,366 and an estimated 2022 population of 2.81 million.
