L-PRES; WORLD BANK COMMENDS ADAMAWA GOVERNMENT IN IMPROVEMENT IN LIVESTOCK, OTHERS.
Adamawa state deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has assured development partners of government continuous support as well as provision of enabling environment, for meaningful achievement in the state.
Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, gave the assurance while addressing representative of World Bank, national and state officials of livestock productivity and resilience project L-PRES on courtesy visit, Friday in her office.
The visit to the state by the representative of L- PRES was in regards for the development partners to assess the performance in the first and second phase of the project, challenges and way forward.
Deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, assured the team of government collaboration with development partners as well as providing an enabling environment, support for optimal performance in the state for the success of the project.
She commended L-PRES for the inventions especially in Adamawa state, stressing that livestock is vital to the economy and the nation at large and welcomed the idea.
In their separate contributions, the representative of the World Bank Manievel Sene, the National project coordinator L-PRES Sanusi Abubakar and the state commissioner for livestock Tijani Maksha, said with the recent development in livestock industry, is on a roadmap to success in the state.
They commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for his commitment and support made to the project from the counterpart fund, as well as enabling environment for the project implementation.
The team also appreciated the state government for its immense support and strides in many fields of development, particularly agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure, urban renewal, security among others.
L-PRES project is aimed to improve livestock productivity, resilience and commercialization of selected value chains and to strengthen the country's capacity to respond to an eligible crisis or emergencies, thereby fortifying small holder marketing system.
