MANDINKO TRADITIONAL
During the MANDINKO TRADITIONAL WEDDING, Families friends will gather and support the bride. 'Griot' traditional singers will be around praising the bride family, drumming and dancing the bride, friends and family members will give them money as tradition demands.
The Jola are found in The Gambia and mostly Southern Senegal in the Casamance region of Senegal. They are known to be cultural conscious.
The kora, an instrument that combines features of the harp and lute, is constructed from a hide-covered calabash gourd resonator and a long hardwood neck. Historically its twenty-one strings were made from thin strips of finely twisted antelope hide.
