The Irish language is the third oldest written language in Europe after Greek and Latin. The Irish language has a wealth of information from manuscripts that have been written over thousands of years, which include history, genealogy, astronomy, law, medicine and mythology. In fact the Irish language had the most amount of medical manuscripts of any language up until the 17th Century.
