Finally, I burnt the 1000 copies of handbills.
As a business owner, I've learnt that trust must be earned, especially when it comes to payment.
In 2014, I took a risk on a customer who had patronized me twice before, and it ended up costing me part of my working capital.
Long story cut short: Despite numerous calls and attempts to reach him, he failed to pay for 1000 copies of handbills that I had printed for him.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson: Except for clients with a proven track record of payment (those whose "needles have threads"), never commence a job without full or 80% payment. It's a policy that I now strictly adhere to, and I advise all business owners and entrepreneurs to do the same.
Running a business is not for the faint of heart, and it's essential to take proactive steps to protect yourself and your business. So, take it from me: don't make the same mistake I did. Be cautious, be wise, and always prioritize secure payment.
