Screen Asia is immensely proud of our very own Gian Carlo Librojo! 'Serbisyong Tatak UP' on DZUP 1602, which he hosts and co-writes, has just won the Most Development-Oriented AM Program at the 18th Gandingan Awards, besting top stations like DZRH, DZBB, and Radyo Pilipinas.

The Gandingan Awards honor excellence in broadcasting, particularly those promoting social development. 'Serbisyong Tatak UP' champions civic engagement, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship by comprehensively exploring themes ranging from human rights, disaster risk reduction, and gender equality to volunteerism, sustainable development, mental health, and inclusivity.

Joining our young and growing team is filmmaker Trishtan Perez as our Development Lead!

Trishtan recently represented Screen Asia at the prestigious Full Circle Lab, where he was handpicked as one of three Story Editors from Southeast Asia to work on a variety of exciting feature film projects in development from the region. Aside from his bachelor's degree from the University of the Philippines Film Institute, he honed his craft with scriptwriting training from none other than Philippine National Artist Ricky Lee himself.

Hosted by the 부산국제영화제 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), Platform BUSAN will bring together Asia’s rising independent filmmakers and film professionals who will share their experiences and explore opportunities for solidarity and collaboration. Delegates will enjoy a diverse program of talks, masterclasses, case studies, pitching, showcases, and networking events that will widen their insights and expand their international network.

We’re thrilled to announce that our very own Kyle Nieva has been selected as one of the eight directing fellows of the Asian Film Academy (AFA)! Hosted by the 부산국제영화제 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), AFA returns in partnership with French luxury fashion house CHANEL.

The renamed Chanel X BIFF Asian Film Academy is "expected to be the most enterprising and essential film education program in Asia,” according to a statement released by Chanel and the festival. Designed to discover the emerging generation of Asian talents, AFA now has 363 alumni from 32 countries who have been "recognized for their excellence in the film industry around the world and at the world’s prestigious film festivals."

This year, 407 applicants across 35 countries applied to participate in the program, marking the highest application rate in the history of the AFA.
