Back in my second-grade classroom, our teacher took the initiative to educate us about child sexual abuse through a video that specifically covered the topic of good touch and bad touch. As I watched that video, a sudden realization washed over me like a flickering light switch. It became clear that the interactions between my grandfather and me were anything but normal.News of my allegations reached my father, leading him to pay a visit to my grandfather's house. He promptly summoned all of our relatives, and they convened from around 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., with various family members coming and going throughout the gathering. Their primary objective was to construct an alibi—a narrative aimed at refuting my claims. Their chosen defense rested on the assertion that it was impossible for my grandfather to have harmed me because he had allegedly been trampled by cows. In essence, they were arguing that the physical circumstances made it implausible for such events to have taken place.#ChildAbuseAwareness #GoodTouchBadTouch #BreakingTheSilence #RecognizingRedFlags #FamilySecretsUnveiled #SeekingJustice #SupportForSurvivors #BelieveTheVictims #BreakTheCycle #EndingDenial
My parents got a divorce when I was six years old which lead to conditions ripe for sexual abuse

When I was 8 years old a child sexual abuse awareness video made me realize what my grandpa was doing wasn’t normal. I told my mom what was happening between me and my paternal grandfather and she reacted in a way that was supportive by telling me that she believed me and that she had sensed something might be up. I was really anxious and had some behaviors that she couldn’t really find any explanation for. For my mom, it answered her questions. My mom is really a do-er and so she jumped right into action. She called the police and we already had a case manager. Immediately after, I was plunged into therapy with an individual counselor and in group counseling settings
