Foster Barham Zincke was a 19th-century British author and clergyman. He was born in 1820 in Bath, England and was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was ordained as a priest in the Church of England and served in several parishes in England before becoming the Rector of the parish of Elton in Huntingdonshire.

Zincke was also a prolific writer and published several books on religious and moral topics, as well as poetry and works of fiction. Some of his better-known works include "The Life of Christ" and "The Minister's Manual".

While Zincke was a popular writer in his time and had a significant impact on Victorian religious and literary culture, he is not widely known today. Nevertheless, his works continue to be of interest to scholars of Victorian literature and religious history.

Today we are reading the first few chapters of his book about his trip to Switzerland, A Month in Switzerland.
