Hey friends! Need a fun fall weaving project? I made a corn cob weaving tutorial on my Youtube Channel. Go check it out if you want to learn how to weave your own!

These can be made in whatever colors you can think up (and dye). I made these with some naturally dyed rattan reed using walnut hulls from my neighborhood.

Pressing cosmos flowers for future bundle dyeing projects. The cosmos I planted earlier in the season is still going strong. I'm expecting them to wilt in a freeze every morning, and every morning so far I've woken up to their cheery bright faces smiling in the garden. Definitely a fun extended Summer benefit.

I'm hoping to get a second batch of these pressed before it freezes. I just wanted to leave them in the garden as long as possible. They're so pretty!

Autumn leaf crafts are great fun! I saw this idea by a blogger and wanted to give it a try. Creating a leaf bowl using Modge Podge and fresh Autumn leaves. I found some amazingly colorful leaves that fell from our ornamental maple trees. The result was a bit softer than I was hoping for, if I did this again I would use Elmer's glue to add stiffness.

My sister gave me some dahlia roots last year. I got them in the ground a bit late this Summer, but they popped up. Aren't they beautiful? These photos are from a few weeks ago, they've faded now, but I'm still enjoying them. And prepping to store the roots for the winter.

Weld harvesting with my assistant Sasha the cat.

Weld is a prolific plant (at least in my garden) that blooms with yellow flowers in the early Summer and attracts lots of pollinators. Mine grew to almost six feet tall this year! My favorite part of this self-seeding plant is that it produces a very effective yellow dye. It is a great source of flavanoids, the colorant necessary in a dye to produce a light and wash fast color.

I cut these stalks into pieces and laid them out in a thin layer to dry.

Weld in combination with indigo produces a range of greens and teals. In combo with Madder root or cochineal, it can produce a variety of oranges to rust and even brown.

Big patterned basket.

This is an upcoming Wildcraft Studio School workshop I am teaching this Fall. I dyed all of these colors using natural dyes. I like using classic natural dyes like madder root, walnut, weld and others because they are time tested and will be light fast.

The colors of this basket remind me of the floral colors popping up in my garden. Zinnias, marigolds, echinacea, cosmos and others.

This wet felted bag is one of the projects I shared on my channel this season. It began with the intentions of totally different colors. Due to a complete brain fart on my part I had to shift gears and change my plans mid project. I think the results are still beautiful and this has become a handy project bag to tote around my smaller knitting projects.

Wet felted project bag made from a mixture of Corriedale, Merino, and Romney wools.

Summer bouqets picked from my garden. Primarily Rudbeckias and cosmos.
I also added to my natural dyeing library with these two books:
- Natures Colors by Ida Grae
- The Mushroom Color Atlas by Julie Beeler

Beautiful books.
