What a great opportunity for the community to come together to share joy and cheer this Holiday Season! The grand finale was seeing Santa Claus come down Main Street! Gary Allison of Allison's Handyman & Custom Painting drove Mikey Firl's shiny pickup truck with Santa standing in the back. Adults and children were so happy to see Santa waving and speaking to them as he rode by!

Santa gets hungry, too, and there were reports that Santa stopped in at Old Salem Cafe! Old Salem Cafe is open 7 days a week. and offers a great assortment of dining options. Appetizers include wings, shrimp, and frog legs. Stop in and eat where Santa eats at Old Salem Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 4197 Wi******er Road in Marshall, VA. Call them at 540-364-1850

Many thanks to all those who made the effort to ready their vehicles and dedicate their Saturday morning to bringing cheer to all of us in Marshall! Peace, joy, and a Merry Christmas to all!

This year's parade format made it easy for local residents, businesses, and organizations to participate for their community! Plenty of room to park along Main Street provided ample safe space for people to watch from their own parked vehicles. Others watched safely from their homes, offices, and outdoor restaurants!

Annual Parade sponsored by Marshall Business and Residents Association who awarded Santa a trophy, as shown below.

Marshall was so glad to see the Silver Tones Swing Band in the annual Marshall Christmas Parade! Adults and children alike enjoyed "the lady singing" as Ross D'Urso drove Wendy and Dave Shuma down Main Street!

The Silver Tones is a 17-piece Swing Band based in Warrenton and composed of musicians from Fauquier County and surrounding areas.

The Silver Tones play the great music of the Big Band Era, featuring songs made famous by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Benny Goodman, and the Andrews Sisters.

Their website says: "The Silver Tones Swing Band is made up of professional musicians from the Northern Virginia area and is led by band leader and trumpeter Dave Shuma. Since the band’s inception in 2012, the Silver Tones have performed all over the DC Metropolitan Area, including at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo, the Harris Pavilion, the Hylton Center for the Performing Arts, and countless galas and celebrations.

The band is proud to bring to the stage their Silver Belles vocal trio, Wendy Marie, Larke Pain, and Laura Mills, who recreate the exciting music of the Andrews Sisters from the 1940s era. Solo vocalists, Wendy Marie and Gene Bates, also bring audiences the dynamic music of Natalie Cole, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Peggy Lee, plus many others. The Silver Tones' show consists of the classic big band swing hits from the 1940s plus many more show-stopping tunes from the 1950s, 1960s, and beyond! Come swing with us!"
