Mukhtar Suleiman, A 35-year-old suspected burglar, is currently being detained at the Wajir Police Station for breaking into Safaricom facility and illegally siphoning fuel from the station on Friday.
DCI Officers from Wajir have recovered three full 20-liter jerry cans, one half-full 20-liter jerry can of siphoned diesel, 14 empty 20-liter jerry cans, and a siphoning pipe at the scene.
Suleiman remains in custody at Wajir Police Station pending arraignment, as the search for his other accomplices continue.
Cases of thievery and forceful burglary have been on the rise in Wajir County business premises and police have sent a stern warning to such attempts in the future. Police have also vowed to bring justice to those on the run.

The county cash technical working Group meeting was held at wajir Guest house(Ogle) where a new programme of partners in consortium BOMA and Chasp have introduced new programme targeting the most vulnerable households in the county.The programme targets social economic inclusion programmefor those beneficiaries enrolled at national Government cash transfers eg the hunger safetynet,orphans &Vulnerable children,people with severe disabilities and older person cash transfers. The team presented graduation models for social protection for coordination purposes.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy County commissioner Wajir South Mr.Keffa on behalf of the county commissioner and co-chaired by Abdikadir Hussein from the county department of special programmes,the session moderator and the secretary was Abdihakim khalif of NDMA.

OCS Wajir Mohamed Abdi Bochola leds counselling & capacity building sessions to the various police personels operating in Wajir County. The session aimed at prevention and control of organized crimes and goons, routes on illegal drugs, wildlife poaching, and stress management amongst others as part of the police ongoing efforts to enhance the police personels efficiency across the county.
These critical interventions are designed, as OCS Mohamed said, to equip officers with the tools necessary to manage the demands and challenges of their roles effectively.
Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Chief inspector Mohamed Abdi Bochola has expressed his gratitude to police for their tireless effort in combating crimes and has also acknowledged the importance of mental health support within the police personels to effectively deliver their mandate of maintaining law and order in Wajir County.
