CONDOLENCE VISIT!

Hon Ugochukwu H Agballah attends the burial ceremony of late Mrs Lucy Ifeoma Ukwu at Akagbe Ugwu in Nkanu west local govt area Enugu State.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress [APC] Enugu State Hon. Ugochukwu H Agballah today led the State Working Committee and other members of the party to grace the burial ceremony of late Mrs Lucy Ifeoma Ukwu.

The late Mrs. Lucy Ifeoma Ukwu until her death was one of our strong party member and mother of Miss Jennifer Ukwu a strong and prolific member of the media committee who has contributed greatly in propagating and defending the party on social media.

At the burial, the State Chairman expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Ukwu family and the party chapter in Enugu South local govt area while praying for God to grant them the fortitude to bare the loss.

Others at the event are Hon. Ndubusi Agbo Enugu South APC Chairman, Hon. Emeka Eze the State Organizing Secretary, Hon. Jude Aniogbo the State Treasurer, leaders, members across Enugu South and Nkanu West local government amongst others.

THE INJUSTICE OF PDP TO SOUTH EASTERN REGION OF NIGERIA,

PART 1.

The party PDP was founded by two political movement way back 25 years ago 1998 precisely. The two groups are PDM and G34.

PDM was a political movement led by late musa Yar,adua of blessed memory, the elder brother of late president UMARU MUSA YAR,ADUA. When MUSA died he handed the structure of the party over to ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR ( Waziri Adamawa) who carried on with the leadership of the group. While G34 was group of eminent political personalities in Nigeria led by late ALEX EKWUEME of blessed memory. This group fought the military junta in Nigeria before the advent of this present dispensation. This group of men insisted that Nigeria must have democracy, which later materialized in 1998, some of the paid supreme sacrifice in this struggle for Nigeria to enjoy democracy.

In the formative stage of PDP in 1998, this two political movements PDM and G34 merged together to form a political party called PDP. There was agreement that power must shift to southern Nigeria because long military rule by the Northern extraction. South west was favoured because of the incarceration of ABIOLA to pacify Region. As at this time there was no leading light of south west extraction that was among the leadership of this two groups that formed PDP, the reason is because many of the south Westerners were mainly in AD, ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY then being propelled by NADECO.

In 1998, when Nigeria was about to transit to democracy, political parties were instructed by military junta to conduct there party primaries in readiness for the main election. ALEX EKWUEME was the leading aspirant for of presidential candidate of PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) at Jos National convention of the party during the electioneering, two days to the primaries the hole scenario changed. The then top military brass went and brought GEN OLUSEGUN OBASANJO who was just released from prison by the then military government of GEN ABDULSALAM ABUBAKAR. At Jos convention of the party money changed hand, ALEX EKWUEME the illustrious son of SOUTH EAST who fought the military to a stand still and was the leading candidate of the party,s presidential primaries was defeated at that convention at Jos. some of of then who were students of political science following Nigerian politics keenly cried because of the political manovering against our own brother from South East, Dr ALEX EKWUEME.

At the end of this exercise in Jos GEN OBASANJO emerged the winner of the party primaries, he went ahead and picked ATIKU ABUBAKAR who was already elected as Governor of Adamawa state then as his running mate. Both of them went into the main election in 1999 against OLU FALAIE and MAHMMOD SHINKAFI of blessed memory, of AD and APP MERGER, at the end of the main election, PDP emerged victorious, with OBASANJO and ATIKU being sweared in as president and vice president, on May 29th 1999.

South East lost out completely in 1999 politically after our son was used in forming the party and building the party from the scratch. Though the zone was later compensated with the position of SENATE PRESIDENT, which is a story for another day.

After 8years of Obasanjo presidency, SOUTH EAST has nothing to show for, Despite all effort that the region made, there sacrifice and commitment to the party for the years. The region went home with nothing.

Since 1999 to date SOUTH EAST cannot boast of any special benefit from PDP, in terms of political positions and infrastructural development.

For instance, the 2nd Niger bridge the party was playing politics with was not done by the party, after 16 years of power at National level. The bridge was started and completed by APC GOVT, we all are witness to what is going on there now.

Enugu Onitsha expressway is still a death trap for commuters, PDP couldn't carryout any major work for 16 years in power on that road until APC intervened.

Onitsha Owerri to Aba road is still in comatose after it was used for politics by the same PDP untill APC intervened.

ENUGU port Harcourt road was still bad till APC government came on board to carry out some major work on that road years back. Be your own judge in the matters of injustices of PDP to south East region.

Do we talk of OJI - AWGU road which was awarded so many times under PDP and was not done until APC government came on board and carry out the rehabilitation that road.

Enugu international airport was upgraded to Standard by APC government in for Ndi Igbo.

Onne sea port Was maximised by APC government for Ndi Igbo.

And many more projects even when we gave APC *2percent vote* and refused to associate with them in 2015....

PDP, for 16 years in power with our *98 percent votes* but both on National level and State level we cannot boast of any tangible project carried out in SOUTH EAST REGION OF NIGERIA. Under PDP, there is no Federal presence for 16 years in SOUTH EAST REGION and 24 years in some States.

In political positions, the highest position a south Easterner could get for past 24 years under PDP is the position of SENATE PRESIDENT. Despite the loyalty and the contribution of the region to the party for this years. Despite the fact that our SON DR ALEX EKWUEME of blessed memory is part of the founding fathers of the party. In fact he was leading the party till when he was about to contest the party primaries he handed the leadership of the party to late SOLOMON LAR of blessed memory.

Every other Region that was part of forming PDP in 1998 have benefited from the party both in infrastructural development and in political positions. Where's the SOUTH EAST that was in the forefront of the whole formation has been left with nothing for years and still counting. 2023 that provided us the opportunity to produce president under PDP platform has also been hijacked from us by greedy and selfish politicians in the party. Where is the equity, fairness and the true justice for SOUTH EASTERNERS to keep on casting there votes for PDP, if not for some few who have benefited from the party and its government on personal ground.

It is proper we let the young ones who are voting for the first time in South East at this forthcoming elections that PDP don't deserve our votes. A party that does not have regards for our grandfather don't deserve the votes if his children.

Northern Nigeria, in 2015 voted out PDP outrightly from top to bottom because the party denied them presidential position that was what gave rise to BUHARI becoming president under APC.

If Northern Nigeria could exercise that action in 2015, South East can equally do the same by teaching PDP the lesson of there life by voting out the party outrightly out in 2023.

As it stands politically in Nigeria today, PDP does not deserve the vote of any sane and reasonable south Easterner. The party that refused to reward loyalty don't deserve our votes any longer.

The party have cheated, maltreated and disappointed the region for years and don't Merrit our support in all elections.

Those Youths of Eastern Nigeria who have just turned 18years and above in this 2023 might not be aware of this historical facts about the contribution of our late sage and other peoples contribution to the party that have neglected us as a ( REGION) over the years.

While you go to poll to cast your vote on 25th FEBRUARY and on MARCH THE 11TH 2023 have it at the back of your mind that PDP should not not be and option to cast your ballot for.

*NUJ FRCN South East Zonal Chapel Awards Ugochukwu Agballah the Social Justice Crusader of the Year*

The APC Chairman in Enugu,Chief Ugochukwu Agballah says Nigeria needs to emancipate herself from social injustice to attain enduring democracy.

Chief Agballah who made the remark while being honoured by NUJ FRCN South East Zone Chapel during it's annual lecture series emphasized that the people in the state need best hands to develop the area and address all injustices meted to them.

He commended NUJ FRCN South East Chapel led by Comrade Obinna Ogbuka for standing on the truth and finding him worthy to be honoured as "Social Justice Crusader of the Year" stressing that the honour had motivated him to continue standing on Justice and fighting for enhancement of democracy.

Earlier while presenting the Award, the Chairman NUJ FRCN Chapel, Comrade Obinna Ogbuka commended Chief Agballah for his efforts to change narratives of politics in Enugu State which was worth emulating.

He said the honour was sequel to his positive antecedents, brevity, and contributions towards the enhancement of democracy.

He called for positive collaboration with the union to ensure a positive change in society.

Present at the event were top APC state party leaders and candidates, including the secretary of the party, Dr. Robert Ngwu.

The theme of the Annual Lecture series was "The media and the task of building sustainable democracy".

*PETER MBAH BEFORE 2003*

Peter Mba in 2003 was indigent and lived in one room boys quarters at No 29 Fourth Ave Trans Ekulu Enugu the residence of Prof Agbowo an Owo indigene whom he served as houseboy and who sponsored him through elementary, secondary and university education.

Peter Mba used to drive a 16 year old weather beaten rickety old Mercedes 190. Peter is used to telling tall stories. He claimed he was a billionaire at 18 years. He has been asked to produce tax statements of his multi billion naira oil Bussiness as of 2003.

I was in APGA and operated at the state level as member of state Exco and Peter couldn’t honestly say he had any ongoing business as of 2003. He can’t say that much more sponsor the highly cerebral, inspiring and discerning Ugo Agballah whose principled style of politics is completely diverse to that of Peter’s.

Agballah resigned from the corrupt Nnamani Ebeano canal as commissioner on grounds of principle while Peter was and is still being prosecuted by EFCC and yet to produce his discharge and acquittal judgement technically making him a tainted candidate.

I was a member of Enugu East Senatorial zone cacaus of APGA and Peter did not contribute a dime to Enugu East LGA campaign. I still have record of the financial expenses as released to the LGA by Ugo Agballah even for the LGA elections where Peter was a candidate. No Peter just can’t say he sponsored the Hon Ugochukwu H Agballah our indefatigable and greatly admired leader of Oganiru Enugu.

To be fair to Peter he has not made such ludicrous claims it is only these unknown Ugwuanyi paid attack dogs that have been bandying such tales by the moonlight.

On Thursday 8th Dec 2022 the Nigerian Bar Association Oji River branch at the Justice Umezuluike Hall of the Enugu High court presented an award of "Democracy man of the year 2022" to The Hon Barr Ugochukwu H Agballah for his contributions to democracy by providing a credible political platform of choice to the people of Enugu State.

Right of Reply: "$1.5Million and N238Million Delegate Money", Enugu PDP Fake News Against Agballah For Exposing Peter Mbah As Tainted Guber Candidate

Our attention has been drawn to the fake news report making the rounds in some online blogs, especially as published in Sahara Reporters with the title: "Showdown Looms In Enugu APC Over $1.5million Convention Windfall, N238Million Allegedly Pocketed By Chairman".

In the said report the nonexistent delegates were purported to have raised a petition and indeed are planning to carry out demonstration against the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu state, Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah, over alleged non payment of delegate money amounting to the quoted figure above during the APC national presidential convention.

Ordinarily we would not have bothered responding to such fake news sponsored by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as part of her strategy to confuse the public, especially indigenes of Enugu state, and divert their attention away from the weighty allegations and issues raised by Agballah against the guber candidate of PDP, Peter Mbah.

Our first direct reaction is to call on the public to discountenance the fake news. For the records, no APC presidential candidate gave Ugo Agballah a Fadden to give to any delegate. Every presidential candidate had a coordinator for each state and it is such coordinators that act as a liaison between the candidate and the delegates.

Every coordinator has the list and contact of delegates of the state he/she is coordinating, and reaches them directly if need be. It is unfortunate that the fake report, which is an imaginary conjecture of an evil imagination, did not have the name of even a single delegate from Enugu state. And the peddlers of the fake news did not attach any petition to back the report, because there is non.

We therefore call on the people of Enugu state and the general public to disregard the fake news being planted in the media by PDP agents and their collaborators in APC Enugu state.

There are a number of discredited and even expelled APC members in the state, who are under the payroll of the PDP led state government. Their role is to serve as a mole in APC and to distabilize the party by attacking Agballah each time he addresses a press conference or grants press interview to criticise Enugu state government and her guber candidate, Peter Mbah, a protégé of former governor Chimaroke Nnamani and the leader of the notorious Ebeano political group that has destroyed Enugu state and her economy.

This fake report that has no source or attribution nor backed by actual petition, is one out of many such fake stories and jaundiced write-ups being sponsored by PDP in reaction to the recent explosive interview granted by Agballah to Urban Radio, an Enugu based FM radio station.

In the trending radio interview, Agballah exposed the guber candidate of PDP, Mbah, as a tainted candidate; and the past/current PDP administration as gang of plunderers that have looted Enugu state dry and destroyed all the monuments in Enugu such as the zoological and botanical garden, the Centenary city, the recreation gardens in the state among others.

The PDP government in the last 23 years converted these reserves and iconic monuments into private estates aside looking the treasury of the state.

Agballah went down the memory lane to trace how the looting spree and political brigandage started under the regime of fascist Ebeano leader, Nnamani, who faced more than six lawsuits from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), leading to forfeiture of priced assets proven to have been acquired from looted treasurery of Enugu state.

Agballah revealed that in all the suits, the governorship candidate of PDP, who is being imposed on Enugu people by Nnamani, was a defence witness, who was arrested and detailed for 10 months alongside Nnamani by the EFCC. Agballah made it known that Mbah was Chief of Staff and later Commissioner for Finance under Chimaroke Nnamani as governor.

The APC chairman in Enugu state referenced a recent petition by Concerned Enugu State Lawyers to President Muhammadu Buhari in which they asked the president not to attend the inauguration of Pinnacle Oil tank farm in Lagos, a company being promoted by Peter Mbah.

Citing the petition by the lawyers, Agballah told Enugu people during the radio programme that Pinnacle Oil was a company indicted by the National Assembly over millions of Naira fuel subsidy fraud, aside from the company being a suspected investment from the proceeds of the looted Enugu treasury.

Agballah made Enugu people to know that based on the petition by the Enugu lawyers, President Buhari did not attend the Pinnacle Oil unveiling but sent a two minute zoom message.

The story about the phantom $1.5Million and N238Million money is just one out of about six other fake news and ridiculous write-ups being churned out by PDP media rats to impugn the personality of Agballah and that of the APC guber candidate, Chief Uche Nnaji.

Apparently since the Agballah rasio "bombshell" has rattled the PDP goons, they should await more of such exposé on their candidate and the corrupt 23-year PDP rule that Enugu people MUST end in 2023. Agballah's recent radio interview is just testing the microphone!

THE UGO AGBALLAH I KNOW

My friend Ugo Agballah won the governorship election as APGA candidate in Enugu State in 2003. That is not contestable. Even his opponent then Gov Chimaroke Nnamani was furious inside Government House that year as he showed the true election results to PDP stalwarts. "This is Enugu North; did I win? This is Nsukka; did I win...?" he bellowed continuously.

It was the last time I participated in Enugu elections -- and the last time I voted. I had to get my PVC this year, after the signing of a new electoral act that makes rigging impossible.

An election petitions tribunal declared Agballah winner of that election. On the eve of the appellate court's ruling (in Agballah's favour), Obasanjo dissolved the court.

Agballah's victory was easy to prove because the Ebeano gang simply compiled fake results in their homes, in evil forests, in palaces and in the Government House, in collusion with corrupt INEC officials.

Early on, Agballah was instrumental in the emergence of Chimaroke as PDP candidate in 1999. When the psychopath went on overdrive with his thievery and hooliganism, Agballah resigned as commissioner in November 1999.

He then founded Oganiru Enugu. We met there. And he co-founded APGA in 2002 along with Chekwas Okorie, Peter Obi and others.

After listening to his radio programme on Monday, I remembered that it was in his house -- his father's house in Trans-Ekulu -- that I once met Peter Mbah. His face seemed familiar until Agballah's reminder on radio. We were all in Oganiru in its early days.

Ugo Agballah's intelligence is never in doubt. Ask Chimaroke. He forewarned his supporters that he was going into an election with him alone, not even Fidel Ayogu of the ANPP. Agballah is a formidable organiser acclaimed by all. And he's an astute campaigner.

We're still very close friends. We would have been in the trenches together once again -- until Peter Obi happened on Nigeria... I'm neck-deep in Labour Party, and when I asked him to join us it was too late for him because he was already the state chairman of APC. Nevertheless, I told him his candidate won't make it: Hon. Chijioke Edeoga of Labour Party is the new bae!

So, although we belong to different parties now, I know that Agballah is a great man, just as he comes from a privileged family. His father Petrus was in the old Anambra State House of Assembly in the Second Republic. He was the minority (NPN) leader. The other NPN member and minority whip was CU Opata of Lejja, my uncle.

Today, Agballah is not just an influential politician but also a comfortable man by every standard. He is never ambivalent on any issue -- he doesn't speak from both sides of the mouth. He knows his onions. His book, WHERE THE RAIN STARTED BEATING US, is a magna opus on the story of pre-colonial Igbo society.

I've explained these for decent participants of this group so they may understand the man being vilified unfairly by those paid to destroy innocent people's image. Surely, anybody who is somebody wouldn't read trash posted by Janus-faced sycophants.

The fiction writer says Mbah was a millionaire in 1992! Can you beat that? He was still in secondary school then, but Agballah was Governor Nwodo's special adviser from 1992 to 1993. Agballah is at least six years older than Mbah.

Mbah was in the NYSC in 2002! Agballah was a practising lawyer 14 years earlier.

Pinnacle my foot! We know the source.

But, as Agballah said on radio, the campaign is just starting...

The youth leader is in Enugu state to meet with the youths of the party and also to attend the planned Enugu progressives youth summit scheduled to hold tomorrow 6/11/22 @ Aegeyi grand express hotel GRA Enugu.
