Music videos and live music have the potential to be the most openly creative projects for filmmakers. Boundaries and restrictions which are often tied around professional projects can be let loose and experimental filmmaking begins!

I’ve had some great experiences over the past 10 years working with artists and music festivals to shoot some visually exciting content. Psychadelic experiments of colour, filters & effects, abandoned buildings & historical ones full of character, front row at festivals inches away from artists I idolise - Every project has been truly unique!

AUTOMOTIVE 🛞

Throwback to a selection of my favourite automotive frames from over the years.

When I first started working on branded automotive films 10 years ago, little did I know how this would become one of my favourite genres to film! Whilst I still remain an to A > B driver, I love the storytelling options with 4 wheels. Cars may be faceless but emotion can be told through direction, velocity, reflections, light and much more.

Many of the automotive projects I’ve worked on have been part of documentaries, particularly with the take up of EVs and the climate benefits. Norway now has an over 90% market share of EVs and the infrastructure is almost incomparable to ours in the UK. Promoting the biggest EDM festival (Tomorrowland) and experiencing the festival buzz with Mazda. Cruising through the white sand beaches of North Wales for Bentley. Slices of life like this that you often wouldn’t experience is one of the best perks of the job.

We had 6 hours to film our whole promo for UFC 305 with before heading back to the airport. Halfway through filming, Gamrot suggested we head up to the Zakopane, Polish mountains to film his shadowboxing. Sounded almost impossible with the limited time we had, but we packed all our kit and hiked up in the intense afternoon heat. Hiking with an elite level wrestler basically means running up the incline to keep pace! 🥵

Zero regrets with our choices and a truly unforgettable day spent with one of the nicest and fun guys in the UFC. Gamrot vs Ho**er live at UFC 305 this weekend where this little promo will be broadcast!

This month, we celebrate eight years of Nougie Film and we’ve got a brand new reel to show you what we’ve been up to! 🥳

100K views on our new short film, The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story in 48 hours! Couldn’t have asked for a more positive reception!

In celebration, here are some of my favourite shots which I shot back in October last year on our DIY film sets of the Spencer Mansion. Shot with Komodo and Orion Anamorphic lenses.

I also worked as the colourist on the project to ensure we kept our colour palette true to that of Resident Evil Remake. Whilst I’m still not a fan of shooting with S35 sensors (FULL FRAME BABYYY!), The Red raw codec and anamorphic glass delivered some great detail which was a pleasure to grade.

The largest Resident Evil crowdfunded fan-film, has finally been released!

Combining my two largest passions - Filmmaking and Resident Evil and pairing up my YouTube channel, Resident Evil Challenger alongside the largest creators in the space ( , , and others) we managed to get financial support from over 700 RE fans.

Last October, we had one week to finish the construction of our DIY film sets of the Spencer Mansion and film one of the favourite stories of the infamous “Keeper’s Diary” file from the OG RE1, narrating the story of the slow and painful infection of the T-virus.

Pulling off constant 20-hour days to ensure we got everything finished in time was truly one of the most challenging things I’ve worked on. The film released yesterday evening and has already had over 50k views and almost 2,000 positive comments. If you’re an RE fan who has followed RE film content over the years, you’ll know that this is a breakthrough and we’ve all been overwhelmed by the support and feedback!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this fanboy concept into a reality!

After years following video games and movies set in diners, this is a location I’ve been itching to shoot at for a while so we had fun motivating the neon multicolours with a variety of LED lighting.

A new short film I shot last year in Pretoria, South Africa exploring the awakening possibilities of lion extinction, told by the infamous YouTuber, Kevin Richardson and the incredible spoken word artist Sophia Thakur.

Shot in 3 days with Sony FX6, a7S3, Mavic 3 and a combination of Sony GM primes and zooms, including my first use of the whopping 200-600 tele zoom to capture the intimate shots of the lion (Bobcat) from a safe distance.

Safari documentary filming is one of my favourite things to do and feeling hugely blessed with this opportunity to do it all over again 🙏 Hitting the film festival circuit very soon!

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 👊🇫🇷

We travelled to Nice, France to film with UFC women’s flyweight “The Beast” as she prepares for a title eliminator fight this weekend in Atlantic City versus

Following Manon through her brutal training camp as she prepares to battle one of the top grapplers in the business, whilst also getting an insight into The Beast’s personal life with her beloved Sphynx Cat’s and the nostalgia of her humble beginnings in karate.

Very excited to share the first frames which have been released from the biggest Resident Evil fan film, The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story which I shot in the US last year!

The top team of Resident Evil content creators joined forces like the Avengers and travelled from across the globe to unite and create the ultimate survival horror passion project.

First time working with the Komodo and Orion anamorphic set which delivered a very specific, filmic look to the events we shot in our home-made Spencer Mansion!

2023 somehow turned out to be one of the most memorable years ever! Lots of dream gigs from shooting on a replica film set of the Resident Evil Spencer mansion, travelling throughout Africa to uncover stories of wildlife and coffee origins, documenting stories of martial arts and also starting myself - This year hasn’t ended how I envisaged it at all, but in a very positive way!

Thank you to everyone that has helped turn many of my pipe dreams into a reality. I know it hasn’t been an easy one for those in film and content creation this year and it hasn’t always been plain sailing for me either, but I’m hoping to share those positive vibes I’ve been very lucky to experience this year and use it towards a better year for all in 2024.
