๐ŸฆทCan cobalt-chrome cast abutments provide an adequate seal to microbiological leakage as precisely as milled titanium abutments?
This randomised controlled trial, with an in vitro component, gives a clear initial answer, which should be however confirmed by long-term data.

๐Ÿฆท This is likely to be the more precise and reliable study on the long-term prognosis of root canal therapy.
All remaining patients were actually followed for 20 years after initial treatment.
When treatment is well performed, there are more chances for the tooth to be lost for other reason than failure of the root canal therapy per se.

๐ŸฆทIn the presence of multiple gingival recessions shall we skeletonize the patient palate or could we consider to take a small sample of tissue from the palate to grow the patientโ€™s own fibroblasts?

โžก๏ธThis technique was recently developed in Russia and you can find the preliminary published clinical data here: http://www.clinicaltrialsindentistry.com/treatment-of-multiple-gingival-recessions-in-anterior-maxillary-teeth-using-platelet-rich-fibrin-and-autologous-gingival-fibroblasts-a-case-series/

โžก๏ธThere are different techniques used to persuade patients to keep high levels of oral hygiene, but is there one that works better than the other?

โœ๏ธThis randomized controlled trial http://ow.ly/RLts50EZ0HQ compares four of these technique to see whether some could be more effective than others after 2 years.

โ“One of the questions that often patients ask to dentists is how long dental implants will last.

๐ŸฆทDentists usually reassure patients on this topic, but where they obtain this info?

โœ”๏ธOne way to answer the most exigent patient is to provide data from prospective long-term follow-up trials such the one that was recently published on Clinical Trials in Dentistry: http://www.clinicaltrialsindentistry.com/immediate-nonocclusal-versus-early-loading-of-dental-implants-in-partially-edentulous-patients-15-year-follow-up-of-a-multicentre-randomised-controlled-trial/

We are pretty sure that some of yours more motivated patients, after initial oral hygiene instructions, asked how many stokes with interdental brushes they should give at each interdental space. We have not a clue of what you would answer, however this matter was scientifically investigated in a short-term RCT which came with the magic number.

๐Ÿ‘‰To find the exact number please access: http://www.clinicaltrialsindentistry.com/plaque-reduction-after-different-numbers-of-interdental-brush-strokes-a-splitmouth-randomised-controlled-trial/
