University of Kentucky Women's Basketball is up to #14 in the top 25 and will take their undefeated 5-0 record to Nashville to compete In the Music City Classic before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Lady Cats first will take on Arizona State today at 4:30 PM & then on Wednesday will take on #19 Illinois in clash of top 20 teams at 8 PM. Let’s Go Big Blue!!! đŸ€đŸ’™đŸ±

Former Mercer County Titans great and safety for Eastern Illinois Kaelin Drakeford has entered the transfer portal as a Redshirt Junior. This comes on the heels of a great 2024 Season that saw Drakeford record 63 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 INT, 2 FF, and 4 PBUs. If the Drakeford name sounds familiar it’s because he has two family members that are incredible athletes in their own right in Thomas More Basketball commit Anna Kate Drakeford and standout Football and basketball Player at Mercer County, Ashton Drakeford. Best of Luck to Kaelin finding a home to finish his college career.

Kentucky Football has FINALLY decided to bench Brock Vandergriff and turn to Cutter Boley as QB1 for the Louisville game. If you have watched the Cats recently then you can see the confidence other players have in Boley by the energy shift when he enters the game. Players always know. In an interview earlier this week Boley reiterated the fact that he believes UK has the talent necessary to take the program to new heights. A Kentucky kid leading the offense could be the shot in the arm that program desperately needs. SEC is the most difficult conference in the country and if you don’t have a QB, then you don’t have a chance to be competitive. Cutter is a great young man and I sincerely hope the fanbase rallies around him as he tries to lead the program going forward. GO BIG BLUE!! Beat Louisville!!

Slowed down Replay of Controversial Touchback call last night. Again I think it’s clear his knee was down well before the ball came out. There was about two minutes left if Boyle went on to score, it would’ve made it 35-31 Boyle lead and Covington Catholic ball. Their ball with a chance to go win it. I would’ve much rather seen that. Instead a bad call dictates the result instead of both teams with opportunity to win on last drive. Both teams gave EVERYTHING they had and it should’ve been left up to them to decide it.

Dear Boyle County Rebels Football,
Certainly not the result Rebel Nation wanted for this Senior Class, and while there is plenty of reasons for the result, all good things come to an end whether we like it or not. The program wasn’t built on excuses so I won’t waste your time stating those because it’s just not the “Rebel Way” (even though some are VERY important)
Three years ago, I started Quadruple Coverage to shine a light on the great athletes we have in this area. I had no idea at the time where exactly that would take me. But the last two years I’ve found myself on the sidelines of Kroger Field for State Title game because of Boyle Football. Covering this team over those 3 years, has took me to the highest of highs and now in defeat it feels like the lowest of lows. But the sun will rise again and once the sting of defeat wears off, I hope every player will look back on all you have accomplished with great pride. For 4 years, every season ended with Boyle hoisting the 4A trophy so Even though I’m extremely disappointed in the way the game played out last night, I’m extremely grateful for the last 3 years that I was involved. Wouldn’t trade them for nothing.
To the Seniors, hold your heads high, you will go down as one of the most decorated teams in school history despite the result last night. No one can take that from you. Hopefully there are better things to come as you move forward with your life. To all the coaches, you all have me treated me so well. I got so much respect for everything you pour into these kids. From where I’ve come from in my life, to have the respect of such great guys means a lot to me and something I never took for granted and I hope I served you all as well as you treated me.
Lastly Kudos to Covington Catholic, they came to play and at the end of the day they won, so respect to them for not just coming to participate and whatever u wanna say about the refs, you can’t say CC didn’t come to play. So respect to them.

Covington Catholic shocks the state after The play that will be talked about for days. I thought he Was pretty clearly down at the 1 maybe one and a half before the ball came out. Honestly it was one of many calls that weren’t even close. There were two questionable calls that resulted in 1st n Goal. Losing Crowe and Brown to injury was very critical blow to the defense. In the end Boyle loses a heartbreaker 31-28 tonight at Rebel Stadium. Nothing for Boyle to hang their heads about, this class will go down as one of the most decorated classes in school history. But the winning streak comes to an end at 32.
