Really interesting topic for debate!

Does a “safety net” hold you back in the world of entrepreneurship? Better yet, does it hold you back in life?

We discussed with of

There’s not really a correct answer here, but I’ll say this:

- I took a part-time job to keep the lights on when starting my first company. That company failed.

- Our family business faced a major financial crisis and possible closure during Covid, but we righted they ship.

I’m not advocating you quit your job or lose all income when starting a business or leaving the corporate world.

On the flipside, there’s something to be said for “do or die”. There’s something about desperation that can be an incredible motivator for those who know how to use it to their advantage.

With no backup plan, the only option is to succeed or fail, and failure isn’t an option.

With a backup plan, you may not have the same sense of urgency.

Flipside, having not backup plan is EXTREMELY stressful and not for the faint of heart.

That’s my perspective as someone who has been in both situations.

Here’s a simple rule to start working smarter to make a MASSIVE impact on your business in a short amount of time.

Everyone’s business is different. But, when Covid hit and sales dropped, I used this exact principal to keep us afloat in terms of cash flow.
